It's fun for a gag or to surprise people, but in my opinion it's a little overpriced. Everything is made solid and it functions well, so no complaints there.

This spider box is a hit. Easy to use and durable. Well built with quality materials. No batteries or sounds, just simple and good scaring fun. Very stable with soft wood.

This thing is a fun gag prank style gift. You'll give a startle or two (I've gotten ppl multiple more than once with this over the years, never gets old!) It's so simple, but it works.

From the reviews I've seen the bod is pretty hit or miss, luckily the box itself was actually great. The lit fit perfectly, slid outward with ease, and wasn't too loose where it would go crooked. The problem I have with this product was mainly the string. Day 1 it broke... it's a very thin string put on with small staples and snaps with little tension. If anyone is crafty I'd recommend replacing with a stronger material. First I tested everything out to make sure the product was in good shape, and it was. Everything was great. Used it on my girlfriend in the middle of her workout and she screamed. Worth every penny at that point. However my daughter (age 3) kept wanting to use it over and over. Then my sister and her kids came over... needless to say after a few times of the kids using it to get a laugh the string snapped. I had it a total of 3 hours before it broke. So I guess use with caution and buyer beware. Other than that it's a nice gag to have around.

There are other cheap imitations for this product on Amazon, but this is the one you want to get. It's much higher quality than the others and it works fantastic for freaking people out. We have had so much fun watching people in our family scream when we hand them the box and pretend like "Look what my brother got me, it was was so thoughtful..." and then they open it and the spider jumps out at their hand all of a sudden. It has been so much fun with this gag gift. Works great to get your office co-workers too!

This was probably the most loved Christmas gift. It never failed to get a laugh after a blood curling scream. Excellent gag gift.

Terrible quality!! Do not buy ! Both string inside the box and glue holding the wire and spider came broken . Was supposed to be a prank for kids but turned out disappointing as the kids now know about the spider and it didn’t work when they unpacked the package and opened it .

Poorly made, barely works. Not recommended.
