The cans I have received had at least a two year shelf life expiration.

That’s kinda unclear , you get what’s available, I don’t think they go around looking at expiration dates at amazon, but it’s a canned good and they usually have long expiration dates

Yes, just heat and serve. You can even make an indentation and put an egg in it and heat in the microwave. Turns out well at 2 1/2 minutes, but varies per microwave. and yes it can be eaten cold, I just prefer it heated.
