Wonderful set of mics and a premium choice for karaoke!
I'm VERY happy with this wireless microphone set! It's the 5th set of wireless mics I've purchased over the last 3 years and BY FAR it's the best set I've bought! I bought these for karaoke to replace an older 800 MHz set that had grown unreliable over the years and was now illegal to operate due to the FCC frequency range changes. What I like about them:1. They are FCC legal in the 500 MHz range with multiple channels that are not shared between the two mics (each mic has it's own range of channels that do not overlap), and they bind automatically when turning on or switching channels.2. They are all metal, both the mics and the receiver.3. They provide individual balanced XLR outputs for each mic allowing us to run them into their own mixer channels to better balance multiple singers.4. They use rechargeable batteries and have a USB port at the bottom of each mic so the batteries can be recharged without needing to be removed.5. Long battery life. Using 2550mAh NIMH batteries we've run these mics for more than 40 hours over a month or so without needing to recharge yet!6. They do not automatically shut off during the karaoke! If they do have an auto-shutoff feature, it's longer than our normal karaoke sessions (usually 7PM thru 12AM or so).7. With other UHF wireless mics it seems to matter how you hold them! If you hold them wrong the signal gets weaker (likely because you are blocking the antenna towards the bottom of the mic). Did not have this problem with these mics! Didn't matter how you held them, they were strong and clear with no drop outs, and I took the time to try and see if I could make this problem happen. But they worked flawlessly. This seems to be tied to having a longer range as well.8. You don't have to "eat the mic" to be heard! With pretty much all the other mics I had bought, you have to have your mouth right up on the mic to be heard thru it. Not with these! While you have to speak directly into the mic (side rejection is VERY good, so no feedback when near the speakers), you don't feel compelled to "eat the mic" to be heard, making them much more comfortable to use since you can hold it away from your mouth while singing.9. And most importantly, they sound fantastic! We were happy with the sound from the old mics, but when we started using these we were floored at how rich and robust the vocals were from them, it was a stark contrast from the previous mics we had used and everyone noticed the difference!Things I not happy with:1. They take a second or two to bind when you turn them on or change the channel the mic is operating on.2. The mics are slimmer and I was not able to use the anti-rolling mic protection silicone rings like I was able to use on other mics to prevent rolling off the table and to cushion falls.3. The battery meters on the mics appear to be for alkaline batteries and the NIMH rechargeable batteries drop to 3 (out of 5) bars real fast and then stays at 2 for the majority of the battery life. Initially we were worried when we saw the battery dropping so fast but then realized this was normal for NIMH batteries as they have a different discharge profile than alkaline batteries.I was just up on the product page an noticed a $20 off coupon, so snatched up another set of these mics for my personal use! While they were an incredible value at the original price, they are an absolute steal with the discount!I'll keep an eye on them for reliability over time and update this review if I run into any problems. But after a month or so of decent use, I'm really liking these!

crisp sound, great for the price
Used the mics for a party I and my friend hosted and very impressed by the quality. I barely noticed any feedback and the sound’s clear and crisp. Easy to set up with the portable PA speaker we were using with the 1/4” cable, but I was told using XLR cables might work out better since you will get volume control over individual mics. The mics were mostly for vocals and there was no drop out or whatsoever. Just keep in mind they do not come with batteries and make sure you have AA batteries ready when you use them. Battery life seems to be decent and there is an LCD screen on the mics showing the battery level.Overall really nice general use mics esp. given the price we paid! Pleased with the purchase.

Excellent performance for the value.
We bought this for use with a Fender conference audio system. It works great. The range(distance from receiver) is amazing, the sound quality is good, and so far battery life seems just fine (plus it’s just 2 AAs each mic so it’s not a big deal). I bought two amazon XLR cables to hook it up instead of using the unbalanced connection. It was worth the few bucks. The only minor minor thing I’d mention is the mice are a bit directional, not super dynamic. So you do have to talk almost straight into them. But for the price of the system that’s, as I said, minor. And they’re better than the mic the fender system came with. So.....

Very Good Customer Service
I had initially had a problem with the gain from a lapel mic in terms of it being strong enough for my recording unit. SoundTown customer service responded quickly with a replacement unit that works fine. Audio quality for interviews is very good, and the auto-scan feature is a big time saver where interference is present. The body packs consume alkaline batteries quickly, so I'm using lithium AAs as as ell as rechargeable NiMH batteries without difficulty. I am able to channel the 1/4" plug output via a mono 1/4" to 3.5 mm adapter cable into a Sony mirrorless camera (on a tripod, of course) with no difficulty.

Really didn't like the quality
My band tried out these units and in the end, we went back to our wired mics. People complained about the sound quality from these mics just being very poor; very thin and not natural. This was after a lot of EQ'ing to try to reach some balance. We've also been trying out wireless IEMs by Audio2000s. We're keeping those. The next rehearsal still with the new IEMs, but back to our old wired mics, the reaction was: "oh that sounds a lot better!" We're not seasoned pros - still keeping our day jobs. But we play out locally and work hard to sound good. These just weren't cutting it.

Clarity Defined
This mic is the best I have used so far as a public event DJ. No interference or lag issues, even at long distances from the base. In halls or at open air engagements. This is the real deal, better than Shure or other high priced name brands. Just get it guys.

Drop-outs all the time
I used short XLR cables to connect the receiver unit to my PA. Both headsets worked - but I got drop-outs all the time, even when less than 1 foot away, and up to 25 feet or so, and at the "longer" range which is quite short, often neither worked. Sometimes if I moved just several inches or tilted the transmitter it would pick up the transmission - sometimes not. The two antennas on the receiver were extended all the way, presumably to about the resonant frequency of the transmitters. But reception was just spotty no matter what. This is unacceptable to say the least.Further, one transmitter worked fine to change frequency - but the other did not, and would not change frequency no matter what.I have two other wireless systems that I use for musical intruments. They both work fine in the exact same environment and conditions, so I know it's not an external interference problem. It was returned for a refund. I would NOT buy this system again!
