Cyborg 009 was a very nice DVD!
Cyborg 009 was a very nice DVD!Everyone would be very interested watching this movie.Nine human beings from across the globe are remodeled against their wills into human weapons known as Cyborgs by the nefarious Black Ghost Organization. Our hero, 009, is half-Japanese, half-American and, equipped with Mach-speed acceleration among other extraordinary abilities, is the most advanced of the nine Zero-Zero Cyborgs (all of whom have super powers). From different countries, different races and even different eras, theses nine inimitable individuals cooperate with each other to fight agains Black Ghost and the strange vicissitudes of their fortunes. Based on the comic of the same name. Uncut and Unedited includes original versions of all 8 episodes.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A great remake of Ishinomori's series.
This DVD set contains the first 8 episodes from the third anime series based off of Shotaro Ishinomori's original manga. This is a really great set for the price, and is more than worth it for fans. Though it would have been nice to have all the episodes that aired in the U.S. in one collection, I doubt we may ever see that happen unless there is a resurgence of popularity in the series in the near future. Here's hoping that Kenji Kamiyama's 009 RE: CYBORG CG 3D film does that.

Damn awesome
This was definitely a good buy. The animation is crisp. very clean, and the storyline is very good to get anyone hooked. The only thing that maybe turned me off was how quick the dialogue was, and not much is explained like other anime today. I think the translations were rough, but all in all a good buy for any anime fan out there.

Childhood Memories
This show brings back childhood memories when I was watching Toonami on Cartoonnetwork every Saturday. It is no doubt my favorite show that used to play on the network and I am just thrilled to be reunited with it again through my purchase of the DVD.

Cyborg 009
Cyborg 009 is a show to be respected, all factors given. The original manga dates back from the 1960's, so the animation style is dates compared to the flashy style of the anime of today. The concepts and storyline, however, are entertaining and quiet entrancing.Nine humans have been literally kidnapped off the streets and reconstructed into machines, giving each individual character special abilities. The transformation was performed by the legions of Black Ghost, the embodiement of evil in the anime, so they could be used as weapons. They rebelled, however, and must now face Black Ghost's loyal cyborgs if they are to survive. The characters are each distinctive and independant. Some of them are quiet and personal; others are loud and obnoxious. The group can barely function socially, and this makes for difficult battles as they can't play off each others' strengths.Cyborg 009 is a nice way to pass time, but nothing incredibly in-depth or suitable if you're looking for a life-changing experience. As a science fiction genre, it is now pretty mediocre as the years have passed, but it goes to show that something good did come from the '60s.

Nouvelle adaptation
J'ai connu le premier dessin animé, en noir et blanc, sorti dans les années 60.J'ai été déçu par cette nouvelle mouture dans laquelle je ne retrouve pas l'atmosphère du premier. Reste malgré tout un classique du manga.
