Nelson Wood Shims 8" 24 Pack - Kiln Dried Wood

I needed to adjust a door in our newly renovated home that we moved into as the contractor did not do a great job and a few doors do not close properly.Fortunately, with this shim set and pliers I was able to adjust the first of 3 doors so that it can at least close properly.One of the shims did splinter near the thin edge but this was a 2-pack so not a deal breaker as I have plenty more for the remaining 2 doors.Great tool to get simple DIY work done and save some cost over hiring a contractor.

I used a pack of these for my kitchen cabinets

I ordered these to shim up the intake side of a steam radiator. It is a two-pipe system so the water needs to drain out the other end. Therefore the legs on the intake side need to be just a little higher up than the legs on the drain side. The radiator was only heating up about 1/3 of the way if that.I had shimmed up this radiator from time to time over the years but it had apparently settled again. I worried and fussed over the steam trap and the Hoffman vent but those were not the problem. The problem was the radiator had settled again over the years and a level showed that it was perfectly flat.Three or four of these wooden shims and a hammer fixed it right up! The shims went in easy as pie and in no time that radiator was hot all the way across. The whole room is toasty warm again!!!!!
