AK Anne Klein Women's Gauge Boot

I was so excited to get these boots! I am tired of retail stores, and the hassle of shopping there. My husband warned me that he didn't think it was such a good idea to buy something like shoes online, but I didn't feel like braving the mall. These look great, and fit very well everywhere except around the calf. The product descriptions should include this measurement. I am a dress size 8, so pretty average. My calf measures 14". I read a few other reviews, thinking perhaps I have unusually hefty calves, but I don't think so. The boots specified as "large calf" were more like 17 and 18". These were not just a bit tight, they pinched terribly, even though there was probably a 1/2 inch bit of elastic to provide a little stretch. Then when I went to return them, Amazon said that since the mistake was not their fault, I would have to pay the shipping both ways! Worst part: my husband was right!

If you like a pointed toe boot you'll love the Gauge Knee-High Boot. This is an expensive looking Mahogany leather boot constructed of good leather and even the side buckle is attractive rather than distracting. However, one reason I chose this boot over several others is because I was looking for a boot that fits tight enough for me to wear with dresses - and the product description states this boot is 14" in circumference however that's misleading - on me there's at least a 1" space at the back of the boot. So much for wearing these with a dress. Anyway the leather is nice enough to wear as a dressy boot, the fit true to size and more importantly - especially for the price - heel height is perfectly comfortable for wearing all day for work. All in all a great boot.

4 STARS - because I ordered a half size up and fits perfectly. So its not really true to size.Classic style with not too much flash. Would go with a lot of outfits. I got the black and I have narrow calves so its a little big big around the calves for me. It also bunches a little bit around the ankle area, which i didn't particularly care for.Its a good basic black boot otherwise, that i hope to get a few good years of wear out of.

I'm looking for a pair of boots that are tight on my tiny calves, but these were still a little too big. I have a 13" calf, but wear a size 9 boot, so most of the time the bigger sized boots also come with a bigger boot opening, which these did. I bought them because others commented they were too tight in the calf, so I was hoping they would be snug on my legs, but they weren't. I sent them back. The style was ok, and the quality was excellent, just as you would expect from AK. The boot and heel height seemed comfortable while I tried them on, they just weren't what I was looking for, too loose in the ankle and calf.

Ok, I ordered these based on the reviews and the fact that they were Anne Klein. I'm not sure what I missed here. These are not "tall" boots. Nor are they fitted around the calf as many were saying. Granted, I have small calfs, but mine are absolutely swimming in these. I would not be able to wear them with a dress, which is what I ordered them for. I know everyone is different, but again, these were huge. They're going back. I gave these three stars because as far as quality, they do seem to be made well. And the heel is a kitten heel for sure.

I always check what the top opening measurement on boots is before I order and, while I knew because of it's diameter this boot wasn't going to fit tight (my calves are a bit large for my shoe size), I had no idea the calf area was going to jut out so far in the back. This boot might work well for someone who does have larger calves, but they are very disproportionate for me. Having to send them back. I have ordered probably 6 pairs of shoes in the last 6 months and, while I've kept a couple of pairs because I was trying to wear them enough to stretch them out (didn't work), all the rest have been returned because they are too small - except for these because of the calf width . . . . . Love Amazon, but for me no so much for shoes anymore.

A little more pointy on the tow than the picture looks. Material is nice. Still NOT a narrow fitting boot or enough to fit tight around the calf. I'm 5'5", 115 and they are just about an inch too big around the top of the boot to look alright with a dress. Great seller though, shipped out immediately.

I really like these classic boots! I wore them for the first time today, and they look and fit beautifully. The 2 inch heal is a perfect height for stylish comfort. They are true to shoe size, and there is a small concealed piece of elastic built into the calf area for varying calf sizes. I’m not on my feet all day, but I can say my feet and calves were quite comfortable the entire day. The leather and buckle are of nice quality and didn’t appear to scratch as I shoved them into my gym locker this morning….always a plus!
