What is the maximum height to use this at?

I am only 5'1", it works good for me. I think it would be fine for someone a few inches taller. What they say is a knee rest is under my thighs so that my bottom is in the right spot and my shoulders are just reaching the right spots for them. Therefore, if you're much taller then me, I don't see how it would work.

Will this work on carpet or only a hard floor?

I use mine on my bed. Getting up off the floor was not an option for me. It works great.
