I bought these with the intention of securing the rubberized magnet to a piece of 1/4" thick galvanized carbon steel using the magnetic strength of the magnet to both hold it in place as well as holding a few tools -- not actually a gun.I was dumbfounded to find that the magnet is very biased to one side only. There is one side that will stick to something and that's it. The magnet won't even hold itself to steel and cheap 4 for $3 silicone coated colored magnets have more strength for the task. It won't even hold a 1" wide drywall scraper on the back side of the magnet if you have it stuck to a steel plate!The magnets also don't appear to have the typically strength at a distance as other magnets do. These magnets won't even hold tight on either side if your fingers without falling down.It would work fine if I had wanted to secure the magnets in place with screws, bit that was not my goal. Didn't expect to get such weak magnets.

As a tool designer/inventor by trade, I am always trying out new products for my ideas. My current design requires a strong magnet in a small profile and this fits the bill perfectly. The 28 lbs rating is extremely accurate and the rubber coating is flawless on the ones I have ordered. Although I am not using the included hardware for my use, it is a nice addition. I have not been disappointed with this product and I do not believe others will as well. For me, a must buy.

I installed the magnets using the adhesive. Left them alone for 48 hrs without putting weight on them.At first, I was very satisfied with these. The magnet was clearly strong enough to handle my pistols well. I was even considering purchasing more! However, the next day, I came back to my gun safe to discover both my pistols (unloaded 1911 and M&P Shield) on the floor of my gun safe with the magnets still attached.I have yet to find a good way to attach these with adhesives to my safe, and this was a huge draw for going with these. Rating as 2 stars as a result (I had wished to return them, but it looks like I missed out on my return window)

Not bad magnets....have bought others that are stronger though...still, they are working so far!***Magnet set-up failed using sticky tape that was sent with them...installation on mt part was correct and I waited over 24-hours before using...Not the strongest magnet, as I ordered a smaller one that is much stronger.

This product is good just not for me. If you larger sized firearms or pistols you will have to use between 2 to 4 individual magnets. I will be returning these so I purchase a different type.

I purchased these magnets to store my Kimber ultra carry under my desk and liked the idea of not having to drill into my new stand up desk. Product installed very easy however I noticed the pistol didn’t seem as secure as I hoped so I went ahead and installed the second magnet. Everything went well for a week until I came back to my office to see my pistol on the ground with both magnets still attached to the pistol. If you have the option of screwing it to the surface I have no doubt it would hold up, but if not you may want to go another route.

I was worried my pistol would drop on my foot or floor when hitting a bump. So far so good I have a Sig P938 hanging from it and it has done well

I’ve used other magnets and these are far superior. Other brands are magnets with a rubber cover. These are actually rubberized. Hold very well and I will be buying these again.
