Komelon SL2825 Self Lock 25-Foot Power Tape

I bought this to replace an old one I have that has lost the battle. It had served well but was becoming difficult to use, this one is just what I needed. The tape is wider than the one I had which is a plus. Also I can control the rewind so much better with the one it replaced. The old one had been like a whip to rewind. It was making me nervous to use it. It is easy to read and there are many helpful markings on it. It is heavier than the old one since it is wider but that is OK with me. No more getting torn up retracting the old one and no more struggling to keep the tape from from buckling when extended. It has a nice clip one side for hooking onto pants or a utility belt.

Recommended. I bought this just over 13 years ago and it still works fine. You don't want this if you need to pull out the tape and have it stay in place while sitting flat on the ground. The tape will slide in slowly about 1/4" 10 seconds if the front is not held up at a slight angle by putting something underneath at the front like a screw. Other than when being flat on the ground the brake still holds well and the operation is solid. It only cost $10 back then but that's inflation. I wanted to buy another of these but i'm going try the dewalt atomic.

You cannot beat the price fir a tape measurer made so well. Stays locked at ant interval until you close it. Highly recommend!!

Initially, I was very impressed with this. No latching and simple measuring. Lately, however, I'm noticing the auto lock is not always holding. I pull it out to measure something and it starts retracting about 1/16" every few seconds. It doesn't happen every time, but even a few times during a project can make it incredibly difficult to measure something unless I have a second person to hold it, or use a clamp. I don't know if there is something that can be done to fix it, but a little disappointed that it isn't staying put.

This is my absolute favorite tape. Probably not daily construction quality, but it is my around the house for everything else tape.

Value and easy to read will last for years

I love Komelon tapes. I grabbed this for my work bag as I travel for work. Light weight and just as sturdy as the bigger tapes without the bulk and weight. Lovely to use, smooth and does not jam.

It isn't even English, how am I suppose to measure anything when it has no English measurements, no CM no metres, pointless, they made that much effort to make it fat, wide thick & strong but it was built perfect but no English man could ever use this for any type of measuring

Tape is well constructed and easy to read. No metric scale so tape is 100% imperial and easy to make from either side. Love the self-locking feature. Great value for $20 for a 25' tape.

Unfortunately this lasted less than a week. The spindle mechanism unwound internally and the tape would not retract. Disappointing purchase but it was a cheap buy for a measuring tape so not entirely unexpected. Won’t buy again
