Great gift for grandson to build
Was a Christmas gift for my grandson - couldn't wait to put together, was out in the snow building it.

Great kit but
Was easy to assemble and a fun project for a new woodworker. But there was one little board missing from the kit. We were able to substitute wood pegs to replace the missing part. The nails seem to be a bit shy on length as well.

Pay attention to the nail lengths!
The instructions don't point out that there are two lengths of nails, and it matters whether you're nailing into an edge or two flats together. I ended up having to use a dremil to grind off the sharp points that had poked through in some places because I wasn't paying attention well enough when my kid was assembling it. The instructions are misleading in places, too, so be sure to sort of fake-assemble it yourself first to see how it's supposed to go before you let your child put the nails in. Also, it doesn't come with a metal roof.

EXPENSIVE for a product with a bunch of sloppy pieces and instruction
The instructions are incorrect... in 7 languages. The back piece does NOT nail to the sides. The sides nail to the back. Amazingly, the photo on Amazon is accurate, even though the nails are very hard to see. The front was badly warped, and I almost re-sawed several other pieces because the sizes were so sloppy. However, if you stick with it it will go together. The most important - and perhaps the only accurate - statement in the instructions is "Do not nail the bottom." Make sure you don't do that. When you are done, the bottom can be pushed up on one side and drop out of the birdhouse "for cleaning" as the instructions state. It's hard for me to recommend this product. It is really expensive for what you get, comes with a crappy little hammer that we didn't use, and really poor graphics and instruction.

No directions
Not a bad birdhouse. Only complaint is it doesn't come with directions and the nails are a little flimsy. Other than that, fun little project. Just be careful to really study the image on the back before starting!

No metal roof even though description says there is...
Description says metal roof... there's no metal roof. Boards are warped. Not real happy with what I got compared to description.
