Wonderful introduction to Tai Chi
This DVD is ideal for the person who has seen Tai Chi (Taiji) and been intrigued by the beautiful movements or has heard about the health benefits of Tai Chi but feels, “I couldn’t possibly do that.” This very approachable DVD presents the concepts underlying Tai Chi in a simple, clear way. Anyone – a senior or a millennial - clumsy or coordinated – can use this to start their Tai Chi journey.Terminology is explained simply, and the Tai Chi movements are carefully explained and modelled. Each lesson presents a small movement (also known as a “form”). Each lesson builds on the previous ones. In each lesson, there is the opportunity to practice with Dr. Lam – both front on and back on. Since each lesson brings in some additional movement, the player is encouraged to make a little more effort which helps to build confidence. The final lessons present the Tai Chi Principles and how they underpin the practice of Tai Chi. This DVD opens the world of Tai Chi to the novice.

Don't waste your money.
New to Tai Chi, this was a total waste of my time and money. Liked the Doctor, but he talked for 20-25 minutes showed how to do 3 moves, talked for another 20 or so minutes and that was it. I learned 3 moves. Not worth the money.

Not much to it....
There is not much to this DVD. Dr Lam has done many videos and this is just another one to introduce people to his style of tai chi. I like his tai chi for arthritis and fall prevention. This might be used as in an introduction to tai chi in general..

Caring and Detailed Instruction
Anything that has Dr. Paul Lam's name on it is known to just excellent. His DVD's are like being in one of his classes...easy to follow. Dr. Lam's website is also very thorough. Dr. Lam has done medical research for Tai Chi programs. It gives me the confidence I am learning from the very best instructor.

Not For Very Active Seniors
This program would be good for true beginners who are seniors and do not exercise at all. I was interested in learning a new form of exercise that would match my recent interest in meditation. The instructor is very thorough, but also it was way too slow for me. I have always worked out, and I became impatient with how slow the instruction was.

Very disappointed
I only used this video once. It is very hard to understand the speaker and is hard to follow strictly by watching his movements. I was totally dissatisfied with this purchase and would not recommend it.
