Melphyreal New Replacement Battery A1641 A1574 Compatible with Apple iPod Touch 6 6th Gen 1043mAh 3.83V + Tools

The hardest part of the process of replacing the battery is getting the case apart. But patience and a little heat will do it. The old battery will need to be unsoldered to remove it and the new one soldered in as well. Before starting though watch a youtube explanation on how it is done. The Melphyreal battery was easy to install and worked great and tools you need are included. (The screws of the Ipod are very small, be sure you place them in a cup or magnetic cup to make sure you do not loose them).

I love my ipod touch but the battery in it was heating up so much that it was swelling and distorting the screen and caused the screen to partially lift away from the base. The ipod touch is no longer being made and can't be replaced so I purchased this new battery and repair kit to try to have it fixed. My friend's son is good at repairing electronic items and I asked the son to replace the battery using this battery repair kit. So far it has worked great but I plan to purchase a back-up battery kit just in case this new battery starts to heat up also.

The battery kit arrived very fast and in good condition, In a small box with tools in a zip lock bag and battery in an anti-static bag, Although it's a good complete kit. The battery capacity is less than the stock OEM battery, Only providing 3 hours when playing movies before requiring recharging. Also, for some reason the iTouch will not charge to 100%, it will only recharge to 99%. Battery issue, not sure? As a DIY project, take your time and not rush, it was fairly Straight forward and no surprises. Key note: When replacing the battery, be sure to use plenty of solder Flux on the terminals Otherwise, a cold solder joint is very possible.

Very reliable, easily recommendable

The new battery works as advertised. Got about 3.5 hours of streaming video on very first charge which is great for the price. Local repair shop was going to charge $110. EDIT: one month later and the iPod no longer holds a charge. However, this is a very difficult repair process due to the soldering. Anyone who says it’s easy is either trying to sell you a battery or they earn a living repairing electronics. I’m very handy but I would only recommend this DIY project as last resort given the complexity. EDIT: I can’t recommend buying this replacement battery

An excellent replacement battery for my Ipod.

Did the install yesterday. The soldering was a bit tricky but it worked In the end. Only time will tell how long the battery will last but at least it wasn’t bulging like the old one.
