Rare orchids and murder
Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop, and her staff are catering the refreshments for the Carthage House garden tour when one of their friends drops dead from what at first appears to be a heart attack.Mark, the deceased man, and his wife, Angie own the Featherbed B & B. Shortly after his death there is a fire at the B&B and the fire inspector wants to pin both the fire and murder on Angie. Theo is incensed. There are many suspects to choose from for the murders and the fire. Too bad that Theo nearly loses her life before this case is solved. These mysteries are still going strong. I enjoy the main group of characters. I wish that there was an Indigo Tea Shop in my neighborhood. Partaking of tea seems so civilized. For those of you who enjoy recipes for the goodies that you read about in the book, you will find them included at the end of the book along with suggestions for themed tea parties.

Dragonwell Dead
When I have the latest Tea Shop Mystery in my possession, I take the time to create a cozy ambience with my pot of tea within easy reach, my favorite comfy chair and my phone switched off. Slipping into a Theodosia Browning mystery is like catching up with an old friend - you can't read fast enough, but you definitely don't want the visit to end. I love all the history of the area which is told in such a charming way that you almost feel as if you'd know your way around when you finally get to visit. I love the way that Laura Childs has been building the characters in this series and I love the recipes, hints and tips on the use of tea. Can't wait for the next one!

I started the first one with my book club and liked the series so much I ordered the second mystery ...
This is the second Tea Shop Mystery I have read. I started the first one with my book club and liked the series so much I ordered the second mystery book. Even if you just pick up one book you can still follow the story quite well but I liked that I had already known the characters and enjoyed the murder mystery. Fast read and lots of suspense at the end. Very good book and I have already ordered another of this author's book but have not read it yet.

Arrmchair travelers invited to Charleston, SC.
This series is set in Charleston, SC where the protagonist struggles to be refined at the same time as earning a living operating an upmarket tea shop in the historic district. All aspects of the story are well done; the characters are well-developed and fairly attractive, the description of one of the most interesting US cities is evocative, the mystery is fairly well plotted and developed and you really feel you are traveling right along with the protagonist at she sets about solving yet another nasty challenge to her friends, location and lifestyle.

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THESE CHARACTERS
5 Stars because I love the characters. Its a tea shop for goodness sake, what do you expect from the story line??? Light hearted at times, suspenseful at times, I have grown with Theodosia, Drayton, Hayley, Earl Grey, Miss Dimple, Delaine, and Detective Tidwell since the first book and I love learning about tea. It is a treat to read all the way around!!!

Another good one
Laura Childs has told another charming story, as she does so well. Her characters are fun and interesting, and the tea shop is a good setting, as well as the geographic area. Always a good read.

Dragonwell Dead (A Tea Shop Mystery)
The book was very entertaining, and kept you guessing until the very end.Liked the way Laura Childs developed her characters. I would never haveguessed who was the villian, and I must admit I'm usually not surprised.

Great series
I have read all of the tea shop mysteries, and I am on my 2nd and 3rd read through with the books in the series. The series is well written and an easy read. There are several recipes at the end of the books. Very enjoyable series.

Dragonwell Dead, by Laura Childs.
Wonderful writing, hard to put this book down, really enjoyed the rambling and flourishing descriptions of people and the city of Charleston. And of course, as a tea lover, the tea shop is always a fun place to travel to in my mind as I read.

A cosy mystery
The tea shop mysteries always transport me to places I'd love to visit, and I enjoy trying out the recipes at the end. Not for those who are fans of explicit autopsy scenes or graphic violence, but there are some nice twists.
