After 1 year, would give it 6 stars
Bought a pair of these 41"x41" whelping pads a year and nearly a month ago. My use: providing a "porch" outside an older rabbit's x-pen home in our kitchen. My furry friend was leaving many pee puddles in a wide arc around his pen, a new behavior. M-a-n-y puddles. While we figured out medical and environmental and emotional things, I hoped the pads would save on disposable paper towel waste and mopping. They DID! Handsomely. Even larger puddles, provided they weren't on the pad edges, were handily contained. The unexpected benefit of using these pee pads was that my boy, who has been losing both vision and hearing (he has the classic problems of a Holland Lop -- why, oh, why were they bred with floppy ears?) now could find his way more securely around the kitchen. He figured out that it was okay to pee on the pad, whose area gave him nice tactile guidance for his location. Dog owners in other reviews mentioned their pets understood what these pads were for. My rabbit, too. If you know bunnies, you know how spatially oriented they are. Gotta check all entrances and exits frequently, and maintain that mental map! As his vision has declined, he has made a habit of going back and forth to confirm his last sure location. These large pads are perfect for a reference point in his kitchen range. Combined with (1) meloxicam from the vet to make his movements easier, and (2) two halves of a Super Deluxe Palace Pet Bed (see USAknit online; they are fabulous) inside his pen and out, these pee pads have made a HUGE difference in his toileting habits and my workload. 98% of Bunny Man's puddles elsewhere in the kitchen have ceased. He happily uses the pad in the area in front of his pen as lounging area and latrine. SLIDING/FLATNESS. Given the rabbit's weight (roughly 5 pounds), and the type of backing on this pad, there are no issues with it shifting or sliding about. I've got one 41" edge tucked a few inches under the vinyl flooring rectangle that protects the kitchen floor from his pen bottom. Because the pad lies almost flat (just some expected curving upward of the serged edges) I can swing open the hinged door to the x-pen with minimal effort to clear it. If I need to kneel down and reach inside Bunny Man's pen to do something (always nice things in his territory!) I can just fold over the pad in a diagonal triangle if it's recently moist and I don't want my knees to smell like, well, you know. CLAWS. The fabric covering is very low-nap and the stitches securely sewn enough, that we've not had problems snagging nails -- except possibly once, when I hadn't kept his well-trimmed. He might have snagged a dew claw; not the fault of the pad. Because these were not made in the USA, when I initially ordered, I was a bit concerned about quality (sorry; I've just been burned repeatedly by lowest-bidder syndrome on every imaginable consumer product). If Pet Parents stays on top of that, and these remain consistently awesome, then you'll love these pads. Yeah, I could sell them. I have given some as gifts. CLEANING. No big deal. I brush off hay bits and hair, then gently fold the pad in thirds and wash in my machine in cool or lukewarm water. I swap out the previous pad, which I've left hanging on a clippy skirt hanger so it could air dry. No dryer for these! When Bunny was more incontinent and leaving more puddles in a wider radius, I had to do this twice a week or sometimes three. Now it's once a week. Still, after a year, both pads are still in great shape. A year ago, before I got these pads, I'll admit I was going through a LOT of paper towels. It was a pain to drag out the mop for every puddle. I'm writing this on May 1, 2020, so paper towels are exceedingly hard to find at grocery stores, and I don't want to venture out to buy a new mop head, either. I am so grateful to not need either!

ABSOLUTELY WATERPROOF-THESE WORK
These work.... period. I tried another garbage Amazon brand recently because I needed a larger size. They were complete trash and not waterproof. The Pet Parents pads work 100%. We've used them a ton, we wash them all the time. I prefer to hang dry, my husband often puts them in the dryer. We've been using the same pads for at least 3+ years. These are worth it. If the dog pees on them, it stays on the pad and doesn't go off the edge unless they're partially peeing on the floor. These pads are legit. They're worth the extra few bucks. We've used these for a lot of things... Setting wet stuff on, my husband got shot in the leg and these pads soaked up all the gross stuff that leaked out as it healed, dog pee and poop obviously. We wash them all the time, I even use a small amount of bleach. They wash up great and hold up. Some of our older ones are starting to fray a bit at the edges of the plastic underside, but they're over 4 years old. They don't hold stains either, everything washes out. Buy these.

No more shredded pee pads!
(1) Resuability: These reusable pads have already paid for themselves! They are really absorbent but they do have a limit and you may find some pee stains underneath the pad when you go to pick it up. I have to wash both of them once every 1 - 2 weeks. (2) Not just for Pee: The FIRST worry I had when I saw these was what about when my dog goes #2. I was suprised at how little of an issue this was considering my dog goes #2 three to five times a day. As long as they are firm, they can be picked up without a trace and the pad can still be reused. However, if your dog is having some issues and has softer poops, you're going to want to decomission that pad and power wash it outside with a hose or in the shower/sink before you throw it into your washer. (3) Essential for chewers: I was so thankful we had these once our puppy got into a phase of tearing up any sort of paper he could get his teeth on. We had to abandon single use pee pads all together because he still bites or digs at them. However, he has been pretty disinterested in playing with the reuseable pee pads. This also helps your puppy be more hygienic while they haven't learned to lift their leg when they pee since the pad just aborbs it right away. Downsides: (4) Sizes were confusing: I ordered what I thought to be a smaller size but it ended up being really big. I just fold it (like how it is in the image) so it's not that big of an issue. It is something to consider though. (5) Washer smells bad: These have made my washer smell like dog pee. I'm not sure why this happens sometimes but it doesn't happen every time. It's pretty inconvenient to have to clean the washer after every time and just the idea of washing my clothes in the same place is offputting. I'm working on playing around with my washer settings and maybe running a stronger cleaning solution. I have also just washed these in the shower floor or outside with a hose and cleaning solution which was easier, so that may be an option to counteract this as well. All in all, these are great to have on hand. Even if you plan on using these in conjunction with single use pee pads, these will save you money in the long run since they cost essentially as much as one month of pee pads.

Pretty good products. Absorbs urine very well. I washed one with detergent and afterwards it was not absorbent anymore. So I washed it again with warm water only and it returned to normal. I recommend washing them with mild detergent.

Loving it as it is environmental friendly, washable, air dry and odourless.

They're absorbent. Can be machine washed on hand wash and put in the dryer on cool down for 10 - 20 mins. No more need for "paper" pee pads.

Terrific. They do the job that they're supposed to do. I place a disposable wee pad on top for the added protection and training tbh. I simply throw it in the tub and hang to dry. Having two is perfect. Highly recommend 👌🏻
