Analog SD camera, makes acceptable picture, indoor use only.
Makes a decent picture and is designed for indoor use only. Color is a bit weak even in good light but remember this is intended as a security camera. Picture quality is a secondary feature! The camera has an analog BNC video output connection, so you will need a picture monitor (LCD TV) with an analog video input -- a rare feature these days -- to see the picture. Usually this will be a yellow RCA jack, so you will need an RCA to BNC adapter or cable. Here are some things the manufacturer does not know:• The box the camera came in says “HD” all over it, and a description bullet point says "HD 1000TVL 960H", implying this is a digital high-definition camera. It most certainly is not. It is an analog, NTSC standard definition camera with about 720x480 pixels displayed.• There are no buttons or knobs on the camera, and I have not found a way to make any adjustments to the camera image (other than the lens zoom and focus). Everything is automatic.• Nominal Power voltage is specified as 12 volts DC. However it appears this camera can accept up to 17VDC (as some adapters will measure higher when they are only lightly loaded).• Current consumption. Spec says “less than 2 watts”. Yeah, it sure is! Current draw measures about 70mA, which is less than 1 watt.• The power plug you need is not specified. It is a coaxial style, shell 5.5mm, inner pin 2.1 mm.• The lens is specified as “varifocal”. This does NOT mean it is parfocal. In other words, as you change the lens zoom the focus also changes. So you can’t zoom and keep the picture in focus – can be confusing! Remember the front lens ring (farthest from the camera) is the focus and the rear ring is the zoom.• The picture will be in color only when there is plenty of light. When the scene lighting gets too dark the picture changes to black-and-white.• There isn’t a good photo of the camera rear showing where the wiring comes out. The beefy-looking thick black cable you see in the photo transitions to 3 very thin, exposed wires before they go into the camera. These are easily broken so it might be a good idea to secure the thick black cable to the mounting yoke so the thin wires can’t flex.

Nice Lens, problems with camera
The lens is nice, which is the only reason I'm not sending it back... This camera is flickering, randomly. I'm sure it's the camera and not user error, because I tried hooking up other cameras to the same setup, and there was no flickering. Luckily you can take the lens off of the camera module and use it on a different one, maybe I'll do that someday.

It works and it's easy to install
Nice that it works instantly with easy installation, convenient size and intuitive controls. Good price point as well. Shame the image isn't up to digital 1080dpi, but maybe that's too far a reach for something this size/price.

Works great and can focus on an object just a couple of inches away from the lens.
While good for use as a simple security camera, it can also be focused (manually) to read paperwork up close or to check an ID card. Very happy with the versatility of this tiny camera.
