Solid steel jaws and handles not wimpy aluminium
Cutters are comfortable to use. On Fatwood (pine with resin) sticks from the box hardware store, I find that on denser pieces I can wind up needing more pressure than my hands can deliver (even two handed) - so you can be sure that the jaws and handles will not bend or distort. For normal branch trimming I have no problems using it single handed. Locking mechanism is easy to use and works well. A well designed tool at a fair price. It will last decades of use.

Well-made and very durable.
Product was as described. Easy to use. Well-made and durable enough to last for years. Does not have springs in it which is a plus!

I buy them again and again
I lose these a lot gardening at other peoples’ places. I figure they will last until the homeowner finds them and puts them back to use. Only problem I’ve ever had is once the lock mechanism didn’t quite catch right, and the things would spring open in my pocket. Probably bought 6 of these and 1 didn’t work quite right. Hopefully, I’m unlucky and the odds overall of getting a dud are low. Happy snipping.

Great pruner shears. Lock lever could be better. I'd buy again!
I wanted to really put these corona pruner shears to the test before I sat down to write a review. I was able to do that today. I was using this in the woods of Southeast Louisiana and mainly cutting climbing tree vines and china ball tree branches. The ergonomics are good and the handles were comfortable. I had no issues cutting green vines and branches that were far bigger in diameter than what these shears should be expected to cut. The blades were very sharp and the alignment was good. I had no problems cutting any green branches or vines I used them on. I definitely cut a few branches and vines that were 11/4" thick and while I had to use 2 hands and put a little muscle into it, it cut right through them. The pruner itself was very good and I have no complaints about it. The lock can be a little stiff to operate, and while I wasn't going to remove a star for it, I did only because someone who might be operating the lock mulltiple times a day might find it a bit frustrating. For home use where this is not the case, I would leave it as 5 stars. The lock can be very tight and you have to pry on it sometimes to release it as opposed to flicking it open with your finger. Honestly even with one star removed for the finicky lock I would never hesitate to purchase these again. I am very satisfied with these shears and can recommend them. The steel will discolor and stain so I do recommend cleaning them with some wd-40 after cutting lots of green juicy branches and vines because it is tough on the steels in my experience of brush and trail clearing. I have paired this the corona AC7220 leather holding sheath, the corona pruning saw held in the Weaver arborist saw scabbard, and a longer handled loping shears and I can clear brush and trails like a beaver with these simple hand tools. Great tools for deer trail maintanence and cleaning up along the woods line where I live.

Quality Tools
Company makes great trimming tools, and have great service. Purchased these to replace same design that was 10-15 years old, and return spring broke. Sent an email and they sent me 2 new springs at no cost. Old pair working great again.

These are the best pruners in the market. They are heavy duty, well made, easy to use, great fit to any hands, and if you take care of them they will last a lifetime.

If it wont lock, it goes back….
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Used Only Corona brand clippers, pruners etc, for many many rears of gardening. I was so excited when at a big box store, I found they had a new(to me) pruner with a ratchet. Got it home and out of the package. Hated the sticking dull ratchet pruner and found the plastic (!) lock didn’t work. R>eturned it. Came home, went right to Amazon and bought my same old choice. Didn’t notice the plastic locking mechanism. When I opened the pkg, the clipper was in the closed position. Used it and went to lock it. Snapped back open. Tried to lock several time each time a fail. It’s my impression that the cheap Plastic latch’s (2different placements) are absolutely NOT effective. On this model, the counterforce of the clipper blades wanting to pop apart to be used is too powerful a force for cheep plastic latch to be effective to hold it closed.SO disappointing. Returned. Good thing I didn’t discard my old coronaclippers. My husband can sharpen. Older is sometimes better

flawed design
Model: Corona BP 7100D. The cutting functionality is fine, but the lock has a design flaw. The stems that you are cutting interact with the lock to lock the clippers open. It's hard to believe that the manufacturer could let this design flaw slip through.
