DEL MONTE FRESH CUT Harvest Selects Extra Long Asparagus Spears, Canned Vegetables, 12 Pack, 15 oz Can

I have a blockage in my femoral artery that is non surgical. Research on ways to improve circulation indicated asparagus. Now not a medical opinion, but my experience....asparagus works. Never was a favorite vegetable, but with leg pain I tried it. This is my favorite brand. Consistently tender and fresh. I slice some in a bowl every day and add a little balsamic dressing. Now...no kidding, if I missed a day or two my leg was trobing and in pain when I opened my eyes in morning. Now I NEVER miss a day and have relief due to better circulation. I chalk it up to a case of the miracle of nature.

My first batch had a few “woody” spears in almost every can. I wasn’t impressed. Since then the quality has been very good. I LOVE asparagus. In general Del Monte has good products. I recently had a few cans of Green Giant asparagus. The quality of the giant was as good or maybe better than the del monte. Try canned asparagus with a can of Campbell’s cream of celery soup. Add a little marjoram….

I love the Del Monte products, this one the asparagus is on back order I’ve been waiting for my order for over a month 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope it comes soon. Diana

I liked everything about it. Thank my driver for doing a good job. I prefer fresh, but when out of season can does the job. Most of the time Delmonty is a good brand.

As many know by now, amazon is completely incapable of delivering canned goods that are nor at least minorly dented. Great product and price point, but I may go back to buying in the store. None of the cans were "crush" dented so they probably are still properly sealed. But every single one of them has side dents in various places. I also find it odd that neither the outer Amazon shipping box nor the Del Monte carton showed visible damage, yet every single can has a side dent. And they don't "line up" so this is not from something outside the carton hitting it, either the cans were already dented at the Del Monte cannery (possible but doubtful) or since they fit in the carton rather loosely, they simply "side punch" each other during shipping. Really too bad BEZOS direction for his employees is to simply concentrate on getting orders out and delivered As Fast As Possible - rather that getting orders delivered in as GOOD of condition as REASONABLY possible.

If you like fresh asparagus, bear in mind that this canned product bears NO resemblance whatsoever to the fresh product! The drab khaki-green canned spears have been cooked to the point of flaccid mushiness and heavily salted to boot. They don't look, taste, or act anything like fresh asparagus. That said, having grown up on canned vegetables, I love asparagus this way! I pour off the salty liquid and let the spears marinate in the refrigerator overnight in balsamic vinegar. Heavenly! You can also throw in some sliced canned hearts of palm for a little extra texture and flavor. The marinated spears are great served with fresh coleslaw and with fish. But if you are craving that fresh asparagus taste and texture, don't even consider this product.
