I have been using this product for 2.5 months so far. I have relatively coarse, thick, long porous hair that becomes dry and frizzy easily. A two wash per week schedule is what works best for my scalp and ends to stay healthy. I tend to use a clarifying shampoo on my roots and scalp as I work in anesthesia and they tend to get more buildup of dry skin/oils. This also means that my dry ends become drier and I’ve been looking for a solution to this for a while. I genuinely love this product and now use it exclusively for conditioner rather than a mask. A smaller amount than you would expect, maybe a quarter sized amount for each half of my hair is plenty to saturate from roots to ends with my hair reaching down the mid back in length and VERY thick. I’ve noticed that my hair is easier to detangle and feels softer and more hydrated, when I use according to the instructions (leaving in for ~10 mins). Even with out using a blow out brush my hair is less frizzy and the ends are not as dry at the end of my shift. The smell is divine in my opinion and I think the volume to cost ratio of the product itself is well worth it. This product will remain a part of my routine indefinitely and I highly recommend to others with a similar hair type to my own.

I've tried quite a few deep conditioners over the years, and this is the one I keep reaching for. My hair tangles really easily, especially after washing, and this mask gets through some of the worst knots without me having to fight with a brush. The biggest difference I noticed is how soft my hair feels after it dries. I've used Wella's Intensive Conditioner before, and while I liked it, the Amika Soulfood mask leaves my hair noticeably softer and smoother. My hair also feels moisturized without being weighed down or greasy. A little goes a long way, and the scent is pleasant without being overpowering. If your hair is dry or prone to tangles, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. It's become one of those products I always like to have on hand.

This isn't as bad as K18 or Olaplex but it does my my hair fall out & case slightly itchy scalp so I give the product 4 stars. It smells really nice. Maybe citrusy? Slightly floral? Fresh? It does make my hair soft but so do the other 2 mentioned brands. I can't stand by something that makes my hair fall out & wonder what the ingredient is they're using that causes it. I've switched to Redkin all soft & that's made a huge world of difference but the search for "the best" hair products for any of us is slow & costly. I was using several products & thought the smaller bottle of this product was actually working to soften my damaged hair. It was but "Something" was casing hair fall. I decided to start using one new product at a time instead of cocktailing like I typically do. It was only after I bought the large tub of this that after 2 uses I realized this was definitely the culprit. Very disappointing because it does work. But for me, there was just unintended consequences for using the product. I felt like the product didn't leave my hair heavy or greasy which was really nice & I did feel like it make my hair softer & it felt more hydrated. The tub is super easy to get the product out of in that the lid screws on/off allowing the consumer to use their hands to scoop out their preferred amount. The product feel, as others have mentioned, very soft butter. It's incredibly thick & think it would likely outlast a turned upside down DaiiryQueen Blizzard in a standoff. I'll give it a solid 4 star rating because it does that it says. I just had a reaction that doesn't sound typical for most review here.

LOVEEEEE this brand and all of their products! This is a hot commodity item in store, so I have added it to my autoships. I love this for the way it makes my hair feel soft and sleek. I believe this is a much higher quality than other masks and it truly fixes damaged hair. I don’t use conditioner with this one due to not wanting to put too much product in my hair.

Take it from so who has died her own hair for decades and have my hair professionally bleached this product definitely makes my hair much softer & managable. Helps with the frizz and I love it! I use it on a weekly to bi-weekly basis, whenever I wash my hair. I personally leave it in my hair for approximately 30 minutes as my hair is waist length. I will always buy Amika hair products.
