Fantastic air purifier and worthy investment for your health
I have looked at many air purifier that are out there, including many that friends currently have. Most were inefficient in coverage or purification and with added noise. This was my first purchase of an Air Purifier and has proven to be one an outstanding purchase! I enjoy that it is quite powerful (provides great coverage) and keeps the air very clean and smelling fresh. We have been doing remodeling through our bathroom and master bedroom. We had lots of dust from removing old tiles, expanding walls that required drywall with lots of sanding and tearing out old cabinets. After thoroughly cleaning, it still smelled like a construction zone. I received this purifier right on time and I have it on throughout the evening. Let me tell you, I have it on the medium speed while we sleep and it is very quiet and so efficient. Having the option of three speeds is awesome. It is very easy to operate, such as if you want to set it for a specific running time or having the option to turn off the built in night light. I suffer from sinusitis and we have had a bad season for allergies this Fall. I would wake up stuffy everyday and the remodeling made it worse. My husband used to snore at night, but that has stopped and we both sleep soundly and wake up refreshed. This unit keeps the air so clean and it feels like a fresh breeze when itโs on. I prefer the Medium over the Low speed at night as it provides additional coolness as we tend to get hot at night. Another incentive is that we donโt have to lower the A/C โs thermostat like before because of the coolness generated by this purifier. I also use it in our living room and it provides coverage all the way into our kitchen! So worthwhile to buy this over the smaller units that I have seen out there. It is of very good quality, light enough to move anywhere, and does exactly what it is designed to do. We are very happy with this purchase.

Levoit large room air filters, excellent air filter
Let me first say tha we have 3 different brand large room air filters and this Levoit air filter is by far my favorite one. Actually I bought 2 of these filters. We have an open 900 square foot living room, dining room and kitchen. So it was necessary to buy 2 filter machines. We might buy a third one. One of my favorite things about this machine is it is very sensitive to the air quality. Let me explain. There is a lighted circle on top of the machine that changes 4 differt colors. We found this out by frying some vegetables in the kitchen, which is part of the large open room. One Levoit is about 15 feet from the stove and the other is probably 25 feet from the stove. After a few minutes of frying the lighted circle turned red meaning the air is bad. I never knew this would happen. Well as I looked every few minutes at the circle I saw it change next to yellow/orange, then to green and finally to blue. I love knowing that it is actually monitoring our air quality while it is being used. Gives me a little more piece of mind. Now as far as noise, it is quite loud on the highest setting. But on medium and low you barely can hear them. I only turn them on high when I notice the air quality light change. We leave them on medium 24hrs a day. Yes, I think I could easy sleep with this in my bedroom on medium. It would just be like white noise. It might be hard to sleep with it on high. All three brands of air filters I own are quite loud on high but quiet down considerably on medium. Look at the picture of each of my air filter machines. You can see the size comparison with them sitting next to each other. I don't have any air testing equipment so I can't actually tell you which one does a better job in a certain size room or anything like that. My personal opinion is the Levoit works very fast and does a great job. My machines: 1. Levoit - 2 of them in our 900 Sq ft room. 2. HoMedics - used in our bedroom. 3. Winix - C545 used in my den. HoMedics and Winix were purchased at Coostco. I have never used Levoit in sleep mode although if I used it while sleeping it would be on medium and I'm sure I could easily sleep.

Perfect for controlling Kitty Litter dust
Iโm writing this review for cat owners. I live in a condo and have two cats - therefore two litter pans. I use 99.99% โdust freeโ litter, which is a joke. I spent several days researching air purifiers, looking for one that does the job, has a CADR rating over 300, uses a true HRPA 3-stage filter, does NOT use an ionizer process, is quiet, has an auto setting, has a high energy rating, indicates air quality, and doesnโt break the bank. I read a lot of reviews, checked the EPA website, Californiaโs safety website, Business insider, Wired, consumer reports, and read peopleโs review. I ordered a different air purifier and retuned it, so this has been a process. I finally decided on this LEVOIT LV-H133. Iโve been running this for a day and I love it. I keep it in the room with the kitty litter. When I first turned it on, the air indicator was green (good), then after about 5 minutes of running turned blue (very good). When I scooped out the poop and pee lumps in the litter boxes, the air indicator turned red (bad air) and it took about 10 minutes before it was back to blue. This morning when one of the cats did his business and then buried it, the indicator turned red, but within about 2 minutes it was back to blue. Iโm using the auto mode so I can turn it on and forget about it. When a cat uses the litter box, the fan automatically ramps up for a couple of minutes and then goes back to sleep mode. This was exactly what I was looking for. The highest speed on the fan is loud, but medium and low are not loud at all, more like a gentle background hum - less noise than our refrigerator, and sleep mode is silent. So far I love this unit because it works. If anything changes, Iโll update this review. Update: I found one issue. When running in auto mode, if the air is dust free, the fan runs on its lowest speed. But if there is an odor in the room, this doesnโt trigger the fan to increase speed. The fan only increases when air quality (I.e. dust) increases. For me this isnโt an issue. I just switch to manual mode for a few minutes to clear the odor.

Exponentially better then Vista 200
BACKGROUND: Its coming up on 2 years since I got a Levoit Vista 200 for my wifes allergies, and I was never really quite satisfied with that purifier for multiple reasons. It had no air quality indicator was a major reason, as well as it seemingly improved air quality very little(perhaps it should be rated for rooms smaller then its listed as). It clearly worked to some extent, being I have purchased no less then 5 replacement filters since buying it. All that being said, while my wifes allergies improved sometimes, other times it seemingly made no difference, but that didnt stop me from recommending Levoit to my sister and mom because of the build quality and it clearly worked to some extent as i said the filters would become filthy. REVIEW: So here we are 2 years later, in a larger apartment and my wife still struggles with her allergies occasionally. It generally happens at night where she cant breathe or when she wakes up she cant breathe. For that reason, we moved the Vista 200 into our living room(a room im sure its too large to properly purify, but hey, its something) and purchased the LV-H133 air purifier. When my wife saw it she couldnt believe that it was only $100 more then the Vista 200, its about 3x the size, has an air quality indicator and feels much more premium and well built then the Vista 200. We put this purifier in our bedroom, an area that is probably only about 250sqft which it should handle fine and she hasnt had any allergy issues since. Now, I am not sure I can give all the credit to the purifier, my wifes allergies come and go without notice, but im sure it doesnt hurt. On the day we first got it, for the sake of science I wanted to test the air quality indicator on the purifier. We brought it into the kitchen and after dinner i let a pan burn a small amount of oil (not a lot of smoke, that would have been too easy...just enough to smell really) and what do you know, near instantly the purifier indicator went from blue to green to yellow to red in no less then 5-10 seconds. I was very happy to see how quick it was able to establish the air quality was poor, kick up the motor to a faster level and clean the air it only took a few minutes before the indicator was back to blue. All in all, this purifier is a far better bang for your buck then any of the smaller purifiers that Levoit has. Thats unfortunate as not everyone wants something so large in a room, but its the truth. Originally when I was looking to purchase a second purifier I was considering the Smart LV-PUR-131 but decided against it because we basically leave our purifier running 24/7 anyways so there wasnt much benefit I saw to getting that, it covers much less area then this model and is only about $20-30 cheaper. For ANY of the smaller models to be worth their price, Levoit needs to update them all to show the air quality, without that information to me a purifier is useless. Any fan running 24/7 will catch dirt and dust in it, even one without a filter will accumulate it on its blades so the fact that the filter gets dirty isnt enough an indication to me that the device is working. All this being said, I am very happy with the LV-H133 thus far. We generally leave it just as we have always done with our Vista 200, on the high setting 24/7. It provides some good white noise which for us is fine. For others it may be too loud to sleep, but there is both a sleep and auto function for those people that make it almost inaudible. I would have no hesitation in recommending this product to anyone else, I am much happier spending $200 on this then ~$100 on the Vista 200. One thing I will say is both of these are well made, and I have never had any mechanical problem with the Vista 200. I do believe Levoit is a good company, I just think there is a lot of room for improvement and much to be desired in their entry level models. Go with one of their bigger purifiers, you wont regret it.

Cleanest air I've ever breathed.
First, I've only had this for a few days. I'll update in a few months with a follow up if I remember. I'm an individual with severe asthma living with a smoker. Pretty dumb, right? Well, I'd agree. This aside, I'm going to straight up say that as an individual with asthma this might have been the greatest purchase of my entire life. Anyway, I'm going to address some complaints I've read in other reviews. Smell: Yeap. It has an odor to it. I'm thinking it's a hit or miss thing because I really like the odor. Some can't smell it. I like it. Others hate it. What do you do? I imagine that this is a pretty normal thing because my HVAC filters (or at least the several brands that I've tried) smell somewhat similar. To me it sort of smells like a pool. Sound: It's loud on high, not very noticeable on low. I have a gaming PC and on high it's about as loud as that. I don't mind it. Some of the more anal individuals around would probably have a fit over the noise though. I've always been the type that can easily tune out background noise. Size: I had no idea how big this thing was when I ordered it. I wish I had checked. At the same time I'd be pretty surprised that I thought something smaller could clean ~500 square feet. Maybe there is something that can, but keeping that in account I'm going to also say that the filters last six months each. That's 7-10 dollars per month for the ability to breath. Filter cleaning: I've been vacuuming mine out. When this filter reaches its expiration I'll switch to a new filter and try cleaning it with water or chemical. Until then, I'll be sticking to the vacuum for cleaning. Some of these types of filters can be cleaned, some can't. Didn't look too hard, but I didn't find a review that actually tried cleaning it with, say, distilled water or even something better. I'll decide when I get there.. 1 month update: Filter seems pretty dirty. Can't imagine it lasting 6 months, but we'll see. I really don't think my house is that dirty. As dirty as it is, air flow doesn't seem inhibited at all. 1 month & 1 week update, 12/13/2019: Efficacy of the filter in respect to cigarette smoke elimination quickly degraded around this point in time. It doesn't actually detect cigarette smoke, so I've been running it on high with my door open so I can leave my bedroom. Today I ordered a filter (that wont be here until january). Gonna have to subtract a star from my review, but it was still a great purchase. Maybe with asthma there is a fine line in tolerable contamination and the filter just becomes slower as it gets dirty. The filters do seem washable. If you live with a pack-a-day smoker the filter will become completely ineffective in approximately two months. Wash: two baths in the shower where I spun it around horizontally and 2 baths in a 5 gallon bucket where I spun it vertically after letting it sit for a while. Cleaning vinegar in the 5 gallon bucket as well but not in the shower. Came out working pretty well, though maybe not as well as a fresh filter. Post-wash it lasts a few weeks running on high while living with a pack-a-day smoker. It will not come out running like a new filter, however, if you're strapped for cash this is a doable method. I'll be doing another wash today and will report back on the efficacy.

Absolutely worth the money and way better than the Dyson
We purchased three of these, one for each floor of our very large home. To start with the end, they all still work great, have done a fantastic job, and the filters are easily cleaned for increased long term effectiveness and lifespan of the filters. They are also light and easy to move which is great for cleaning or if you just want to use it in a different room. The filter cabinet door is mounted by magnets which does a great job and makes access easy. We run these on high during the times when we are not around like nighttime in the basement and main floor. They are a bit loud then but when on medium or low speeds, they are barely noticeable. When we started using them, the dust in the house immediately decreased, the smells cleared (we have a large dog and cook a LOT), and we also noticed our allergies symptoms were reduced. So we were impressed right away, but the test of time is always a better test. After 3 months, I checked the filters and found that the dust had collected to a great extent on the external screen and this was easily vacuumed off. Because of the protective screen on the filters exterior, I was able to vacuum them without disturbing the HEPA media which is great because then it last much longer. I will try to upload a video to show how easy it was. After vacuuming, the air movement increased slightly, but I will say it never decreased much. The filters are substantial and therefore it would take a lot to clog them to any degree. And the motors are powerful. Moving forward, we plan on replacing the filters every 6 months as suggested, as the carbon filters no longer will be effective even if the HEPA filters can be cleared. And it is the carbon which removes the smells and other VOCs. But if that does not matter to you, you can make them last much longer. Overall: Great product, great price, and all three work great still. We also have the smaller models in the kids rooms and they work great and also make great white noise so the kiddos sleep better :). Thanks Levoit!

Worth it!
I waited two weeks after this arrived and I had plugged it in to write this review. I wanted to see if it worked. I bought to see if it would control dust in my house. My house is an open concept and I wanted to see if it would really work on a large space like the description says. I chose to put it in my dining room as that was the most central location for it. My living room and dining room and kitchen are one big open space so I thought I would give it a try. I figured if it worked I would buy another smaller one for my master room. The last time I dusted was two days before it arrived and I could see dust floating through the air and my bedroom which I had just dusted the day before I could already see dust on the dresser again. Ugh! When it arrived I plugged it in and turned it on, it lit up blue immediately so that meant I already had pretty air quality so I was hoping it would do what I had actually bought it for and keep the dust down. Today I cleaned two weeks after I plugged it in and there was almost no dust! I no longer see dust floating through a room, and my bedroom normally by two weeks I would have be able to write my name in the dust on the dresser. There was almost no dust. I probably could have gone another week without dusting. The bedroom is actually the room that is the farthest away from this purifier. I am really impressed! I don't even have to buy a separate one for the bedroom. As I said my air quality was already good so I just leave it on low running all the time. It is very quiet. The only time I hear it is if I am sitting right beside it. Mind you I just keep it on low. You can hear it more if you turn the fan up. But if you are looking for an air purifier for a large open concept house, this one will probably work for you to keep the dust down. To give you an idea my main level space is about 1500 square feet and as I said the bedroom is at the opposite end of main level and there was almost no dust. It was definitely worth the money. The only thing about it I might add to it had I designed it would have been a handle to pick it up if you need to move. It's not heavy but it is a little awkward to move. It is like pick up an over large canister. But since I don't move it around except to vacuum, it's not a big deal.
