Could someone tell me the frequency that this dimmer's pwm module operates at? my eyes are susceptible to led flicker. 60hz would be way too slow.

I just measured mine with an oscilloscope. It switches at 1200 Hz, which is lower frequency than I would’ve expected for a PWM switch. The minimum on period is about 5%, and the maximum is about 92%. Mine has a voltage drop (PWM +Mosfet RDSon) of approximately 1 V with a 14 amp load. it is probably in excess of 1.5 V at it’s rated load (30A). I use a Meanwell 15 volt 200 watt power supply set to 13.2 volts to get full brightness from my 12 V / 14 amp LED string. If you go this route, the voltage adjustment is a small potentiometer next to the terminal block on the power supply.

Will this work on a 18 w 12 v led light?

Yes and these dimmers work very well. I have 2 of them and they control 50 ft. of lights each. They are very "smooth" in dimming. Not all jumpy like others..

I wire from the battery to the "in" side and to the lights (strip led) on the "outside" of the controller. Works once then it won't dim?

I would send it back. Must be defective. Mine work fine
