Outstanding New "KIPPA" IH Farmall Cub Tractor Carburetor
I bought one of these KIPA SN 312389 carburetors for my 1947 early, Farmall Cub tractor which I have had for the past 17 years. This new replacement carburetor is just great. I installed it this morning in about 5 minutes. It does not leak gasoline and my tractor started immediately without choking. I just finished cutting about two (2) acres of thick grass with my Cub belly mower. With this new carburetor, my tractor has lots more horsepower and quite a few more rpms. I was able to finish cutting (2) acres of grass quite a bit quicker because I could cut grass in faster 2nd gear in lieu of in 1st gear. Engine ran cooler with more HP. I would definitely recommend buying one of these KIPPA carburetors for a Farmall Cub tractor. I am glad I did not try to buy a carburetor rebuild kit because my old 70+ year old carburetor halves are warped and leaking, and both the throttle shaft and choke shaft are worn, and are leaking quite a bit of air and are letting in too much air into the fuel/air mixture. A big thanks to KIPPA for offering a top notch quality Farmall Cub carburetor product. It also uses lots less gas per hour with no gas leaking, and will probably pay for itself in a short period of time.

IH Farmall Cub carburetor
Bolted right up nicely, seems like it's pretty well made. 1948 Cub Tractor fired right up, idled a bit high, but that can be adjusted. Good value for the money.

Bad needle valve out of the box
It is always frustrating to buy a brand new part which is defective & it’s crap that you can’t return a part that’s been installed… but how are you supposed to know it’s defective unless you install it. Add to that the 3galloms of fuel, the oil filter and new oil required because this part was defective out of the box which flooded my tractors engine & leaked to cover the floor of my barn, causing a considerable risk to my property & the safety of my family… took the carb back off thinking I somehow had adjust the float wrong- nope! Wasn’t me., needle valve was defective & would not close. Went to Napa, bought a new one, installed it & now it runs, no flooding, no leaking.

Fired Right Up
Was really pleased with this carb ,fired right up ,only adjustment I had to make was turn the idle down a little bit ,does not leak a drop and much better throttle response and ease of starting ,for the price of a rebuild kit and brass float you can purchase this and call it a day.I did remove the factory steel fuel line and installed an inline fuel filter to insure no debris get in the carb as I dont really trust the sediment bowl type filtration design.

Leaks a lot.
To start off you might as well take it apart and fix the float before installing it. The float is not set right and it has a good stream of fuel coming out the bottom of it if you don’t fix the float first.
