Good investment for my twins
I'm giving this product 5 stars because this is the only glass sippy top that my twins will use. I have read in the other reviews that these tend to break, and I have had some break. After a few broke, I e-mailed the company and received a response addressing my concern first thing the next morning. I learned that if you do not over tighten them, when the bottle falls or is hurled by a toddler, the cap is much less likely to break. I had previously been over tightening the lids for sure. I did take the silicone piece out because it doesn't seem worth an extra thing to clean. Perhaps this advice will not be popular, but I have found that addressing the issue of my twins not throwing the bottles is a battle worth fighting. Getting hit in the foot by a dropped bottle hurts! I will continue to buy this product to extend the life of the glass baby bottles.

Quality was Fine on Mine (Purchased in 2017)
I love these bottles, and I like not having to buy something new. We bought two caps initially with the bottles. We used these in rotation with other types of cups (I prefer not to use a hard sippy cup.) They leak if you throw them or shake them upside down (obviously) but did not dribble with proper use. Very easy to wash. There seems to be some quality control issues from the reviews, but mine were fine. One finally cracked after about two years of use, just throwing them in the dishwasher, and my son throwing them on the hard floor multiple times. Honestly, we weren't careful with them, so I'm surprised they lasted that long. I'd like to buy more, but they tend to be really, really expensive or shipping prices mean that I could just buy a whole new cup.

CRACK EASILY: we’ve gone through TEN caps (5 sets)
These are terrible bottle caps. I have ordered them 5x in the past two years (that’s ten caps), and every single one has broken. They haven’t gotten lost. They’ve cracked and become unusable with the slightest drop (my two year old, like most, isn’t tall.) Amazon, kindly, has replaced 1 set, but of course, I had to call customer service and go through that rigamarole...would rather the caps simply not break. We do have slate floors, but they are only sometimes the location of the fall. Almost any drop on any floor save carpet can crack these caps, but the bottles survive. In fact, we’ve only broken and replaced ONE bottle compared to the TEN caps. And that’s because it fell from my shoulder height while I was carrying my son over the slate floor. Needless to say, it’s pretty pitiful how easily the caps break. I suspect it’s because the plastic is BPA free, which I appreciate and is one of the reasons why I keep buying them. The other reason I’m beholden to this awful cap is because my two year old latched on to this particular bottle brand as his lovey— cute except now I’ve spent $45 in caps alone and need more so he can sleep tonight. Please send me more, Amazon. And please redesign these, Lifefactory— they are the worst. I wish I’d saved and photographed each one: they break almost the same way in a spiral every time. I even finally bought another color (kale) to see if it was intrinsic to the blues. Nope. They all do it.

Some design flaws, but good way to extend usefulness of your LF bottles
Yeah, they can break if you drop them, but we've also had most of our of tops survive > 1 year of abuse, and we have hardwood floors and have had drops onto concrete too. (I wonder if the brittleness of the plastic is due to them not using plasticizers like BPA/BPS etc?) Also, the silicone seal inside seems like a weird design. You're supposed to loosen the top a bit to act as an air vent to allow the liquid to flow, I think. But even then, you have to suck really hard to get any flow through there. We just use these bottles without the inner silicone seal, as a 'sippy top'. If we need to travel with it, I either put the clear plastic cap over the top (and carry it upright-ish), or use a regular cap and bring this sippy cap along separately. It's been a nice way to get more mileage out of our glass lifefactory bottles, so I'm overall totally happy with them.

Great Caps!
I love these caps for my 22 month old. We were having a difficult time breaking him from the bottle and we literally purchased 6+ different cups, cups with flip tops, flip tops with straws you name it. Some cups alone were $16+ and were a bust. I purchased these caps to compliment the Lifefactory Bottles we already purchased and he loves them. This was finally the answer to our prayers. Each child is different and every parent has an opinion but I can tell you that yes, they will leak with no safety cap (any cup or bottle will do so) and the safety cap if not primed properly will not have a fast flow. However, once you do prime the safety cap it will work like a charm. Plus, the bonus of a glass bottle is fantastic. No smell, easy to clean and I feel unbreakable. My son has hurled these across a room, sidewalk, street with a full on "football spike" and no crack or damage to the bottle. Amazing!

Perfect conversion from bottle to sippy but they crack easily
The life factory glass bottles have stood the test of being dropped by baby and daycare staff while other glass bottles have broken. Now we are using sippy cups and we've had problems with leaking. But that's not the case with the life factory sippy tops. No dripping as long as you tighten the top just right (takes a couple tries to master). UPDATE: While these work great, no problems with my daughter being able to drink from them etc. as many other readers have complained about, they crack easily. When used by a 12-16 month old, the bottle is going to hit the ground. The lifefactory bottles are amazing at not breaking even when dropped (thrown!) on tile (whereas I had several of my Avent natural glass bottles break when daycare staff knocked them off the counters and I have stopped using them). But the sippy caps don't have the same lifespan. We've had 3 of these caps crack and once they crack you can't fix them with super glue etc. They just crack again as soon as you screw them back on snuggly to the bottle.

No Issues for us!
I researched these caps for several months before actually taking a chance and getting them despite all the negative reviews. I have had no serious problems with them. I’ve had the caps for over a month now and they have been washed over a dozen times, no issues! In my experience all sippy cup lids/caps “leak”. For the most part these do not unless my child leaves a little liquid in the spout of it. I’ve had bottles laying on their sides or upside down for quite some time and no leak issues. There is a rubber type valve in the cap, some reviewers have stated that they removed it I did not. This is what helps the caps NOT leak. When you take the rubber valve out of the plastic cap the top of it has a small slit in it. While washing them before 1st use, I pinched the opening of it to kind of unstick it. When I put it back together I sucked through the cap to see if it had an easy flow & it was perfect, my toddler has no issues. It might make more sense if you purchase them. All in all, I’m super happy with my purchase.

Love the glass bottles but the tops are not great
Had these tops for few weeks before they started showing wear ( kind of shredded pieces of plastic—I guess from baby teething on them.) Didn’t want her swallowing plastic, so I returned for new ones. They came very quickly, which is great. But something is wrong with the threading and they don’t screw on to the bottles. Back to using the old ones with pieces of lose plastic hanging off of them. I still prefer these bottles to plastic bottles but I wish there was enough consistency that new tops fit on the bottles. Oh, and baby threw the bottle today so one of the old tops cracked. I don’t necessarily expect them to hold up to throwing since you gotta compromise somewhere to get away from plastic. But not sure what I’ll do next. I have two new tops that don’t screw on, one old top with plastic shreddings. Maybe return again and hope the threading on new tops is better?
