DEMETER Thunderstorm Roll On Perfume Oil, 0.33 Oz, Long-Lasting

Absolutely incredible product. I almost never write reviews, but I was so shocked by the scent I had to leave one. It is not a salty, perfumey interpretation of a storm. It LITERALLY smells like a thunderstorm. It is earthy and muddy, with the clean scent of vegetation getting drenched in a warm summer storm. As I'm writing this, it's storming outside and it smells exactly like this bottle. The only way I can think to describe it is similar to drinking all natural fruit juice: you are shocked for a second by how not-sweet it is, but it tastes amazing and then you realize how much sugar is stuffed into other drinks. This perfume is like that in it makes you realize how unnatural other scents are. It's sorcery honestly. I have no idea how they made this. If you want to smell like a thunderstorm--not the idea of a thunderstorm, but literally like the storm--this is for you. It's clean, lush, earthy, unisex and comforting. My only complaint is that it doesn't last super long, but for how good it smells (and how long roller perfumes last) I'm not at all bothered. I will be buying this repeatedly.

I have the pick me up cologne version of this and I actually prefer this one! It has less green notes, more earthy, peaty, moist potting soil than the spray!

This oil smells EXACTLY like that wet earth after a rain smell. It's absolutely INTOXICATING. HOWEVER...the scent literally only lasts about 10-20 minutes and it's GONE! I wanted so much for this to be a long lasting scent but, it's not. If the scent lasted longer (as an oil is supposed to) I'd try to give it 6 stars instead of 4. The scent itself is unmistakable and smells EXACTLY like that petrichor smell we all love. So disappointing this didn't last.

I know everyone smells things differently due to association, to me this smells like the white and green parts of a watermelon rind- but not the fruit or juice. It's a slightly sweet damp vegetation smell, and it also smells slightly of camphor (think Vicks but not nearly as strong & no menthol or eucalyptus) That said this is not a muddy earth smell. It doesn't smell of soil, more a pleasant vegetation type of musk, or closer to wet concrete sidewalks than wet dirt. It does not smell like grass either. I love this scent very much and bought it to layer with other scents since I enjoy mixing it up. Definitely perfect for a summer or spring scent. Lasts about 4 hours or so if applied during moisturizing after a shower and allowed time to soak in.

I read tons of reviews on this scent and Rain by Demeter. Based on reviews, I chose to try this one. If you want anything that smells natural or like it's a mix of essential oils, this isn't it. Nothing about this perfume smells natural to me. I had hoped it would at least smell earthy and like nature in some fashion, but it doesn't at all. If you want something neutral and agender, this scent may work for you. It leans toward masculine, but only in the way that it lacks sweetness or floral qualities. My wife's stolen it for herself, because she likes the smell far more than I do. The scent didn't cause any headache or allergies for me (a standard problem with some synthetic scents). It reminds me of my old Irish grandpa, like someone who used a scented bar soap and then maybe sat out in the garden for an hour or two. I know, that's a weird description - but I can't think of anything better.

Thunderstorm smells good. Good, not great. And it doesn’t smell like a thunderstorm to me, it’s an unusual smell but a pleasant one, nonetheless. The big problem I have with it is; I bought the roller applicator version of this scent and I applied a generous amount to my wrists and back of my neck and less than five 5 min later I asked my gf to smell my wrists and neck and she smelled… nothing. I smelled my wrist and the scent was…gone. I was disappointed but learned an inexpensive lesson.

I almost never write a review. However all I can say is WOAH!!!!! This perfume smells exactly like, rain and soil but is still sweet and sexy. Absolutely divine. I ordered like 7 perfumes at the same time, some were from expensive companies. This is my favorite.

Smells so good, androgynous but still feminine. Very clean. Similar to petrichor

tbh don’t LOVE the smell, especially if you’re looking for a soft petrichor. i find it’s almost sour. still nice to pair with other perfumes though to add a earthy bite

Smells like earth after rain. I know it's unisex but it's more a masculine smell.

I was hoping for a great facsimile of a thunderstorm as I am familiar with some of Demeter’s other fragrances. However, this roll on perfume oil smells mostly of warm mud, and something faintly vegetal. Perhaps some of the other fragrance notes evaporated because of the open bottle. Too bad. I was really looking forward to wearing it. I’m scent sensitive and used to really enjoy perfume. This fragrance is non irritating, but not particularly distinct either. Just kinda meh.
