Like Mother, Like Daughter (Gilmore Girls, No. 1)

Like Mother, Like Daughter is the first in a series of episodic books which enhance the storyline of each show. After reading this book, one comes away with more information and insight into the characters, vis a vis what led up to a specific scene and, more importantly, a subjective view of Rory's character and her perspective in any given situation. I applaud the writers for publishing these books! The unique relationship between mother and daughter is fully explored, giving the viewer of the show more insight into the their lives. I would love to see a book written from Lorelai's perspective. What cannot be played out on the show because of time restraints, is wonderfully written in this book as well as "I Love You, You Idiot." I highly recommend fans to read these series of books. They fill in the blanks and replay the dialogue, which enriches the show and its characters. Brava!

Good

May be good for preteens, but these books are pretty awful in general. Not well-written or engaging. No real insight into the characters. The focus is completely on Rory with little discussion of the feelings or experiences of others, including her mother. Reads like a real diary rather than a work of fiction and real diaries are pretty self-indulgent and boring.

Ce livre reprend les mêmes personnages de la série que nous adorons tous! Avec ce produit, vous pourrez lire l'histoire en version originale!! Et pas de panique, le vocabulaire n'est pas bien difficile et avec un peu d'effort, le livre se comprend facilement. Surtout que si vous avez vu la série en DVD, vous connaitrez déjà l'histoire, c'est donc un très bon moyen de vouloir se familiariser avec de la littérature étrangère sans trop de difficultés!
