One of the best gifts I know is the gift of a place to gather my thoughts. Journaling is one of the practices that helps me collect myself. I could write on any piece of paper, but there's something about a finely-crafted, leather-bound journal that draws me in and draws me out. If that's what you're seeking, seek no further. You won't find a finer blend of simplicity, design and durability. I chose the large refillable version. I love that I will be able to fill its pages not once, but again and again. This will likely be the last journal I purchase for myself, and a frequent gift given to friends.

I love that this is elegant and useful, and the refillable pages mean that you will actually use it! I gifted it to my young adult daughter and she was overwhelmed. It is perfect and a very good price for what you get as well. Probably the last journal you will ever need. (I also got the re-fill package, so it will last a very, very long time!).

I have only just started using this journal even though I received it four weeks ago. The leather journal is excellent and very well-made, I'm very please with it. However, it has been made too small for the refill books that I also purchased. To get them to fit I've had to cut the cover edges so they easily go into the leather cover. I hope that mine is the only one to have been made too small for the inserts.Update on this review.I have had contact by Mark Scott who has said it's the first time this has happened. They are hand stitched by humans and not a machine and mine must have slipped through. He's sending me another free of charge which is great. Bearing this in mind I have changed the rating to 5*. The customer service has been exemplary.

I bought this as a gift for my son. It is handmade to a very high quality using soft leather.It looks beautiful and the wrap round tie keeps it securely closed.The paper is a good quality and you can buy a refillable version and refill pads.I thoroughly recommend this item !

I wanted a nice looking journal for work to write my notes into and I am quite pleased with what I got.On the photo, journal looks black, but when it arrived, it turned out that the leather was dyed brown, but still a quite dark color, so no worries there.One small issue was that the refillable part was inserted into leather covers a bit harshly and a couple pages and the back paper cover were quite wrinkled, but it's covered by leather so not really noticable.All in all, I am very pleased with the product, paper is great to write on and sketch and leather looks really well done and feels nice in hand.

Plain design, seems well stitched and hopefully will last many years. Paper supplied is good enough quality for writing and possibly light sketching, at least with pencils. I do intend to replace this paper with a heavier gsm paper as cover was bought for plein air water colour sketching rather than just for written content. Slightly disappointed that the leather doesn't have much of a 'leather smell' but I'd guess this is due to mass production and processing methods which is why I've not given 5 stars for 'craftsmanship'.

I love my new journal, it looks and feels wonderful the paper is nice to the touch and not flimsy, my writing doesn't show up on the opposite side of the page. There isn't any bad smell from cover its isnt easily scratchable and the price was perfectly fine. I would very much recommend.
