Actually, it does work. I had a major problem with my 30 year old septic system. The previous homeowners had neglected having it pumped out regularly, and the fields were completely plugged. Replacing the fields would have been monstrously expensive because a road had been built over the fields after they were installed.I tried a different brand and nothing happened. I tried this item, and used it once a week for an entire summer. By the end of the summer, the fields were running normally. This is very impressive!

I buy this for 3 or 4 years now. I use it to unclog toilet. It used to work really well for that. I'd put a little, leave for an hour or so and flush, it worked 9 out of 10 times. Now, something has changed in the formula. The liquid used to be a dark green that turned the water dark green as soon as you poured it in. Now it is a lighter green and it doesn't seem to change the water color as it used to. Also, now it works only half of the time.

This really did work for us. Our commodes now flush with a rapid sucking sound. We used it in the commode the farthest from the septic tank. We've also used it in the grey water system by pouring it in a drain with the farthest run of piping. It took a couple of weeks to start really showing it's progress. We've always used those once a month pods and will continue to do so but this is going to be a bi-annual treatment.

My bathroom has a bad smell like bad sewer water and I've noticed little black flying bugs so I purchased this thinking this would solve the problem but nothing has changed. Unfortunately, it does not work.

Basically, I bought this to unclog my toilet because my system was backing up in to my bathtub. It did not successfully fix that issue. But I'm not giving it a one star. Because that's not what it's meant for it. And because my plumber said that the issue was pretty bad. He had to go get a longer snake and all that so maybe it wasn't the fault of this product. I have been getting the plumbers to come out and when they do, they fine baby wipes that I don't use, in my plumbing so I'm gonna say that it's not the fault of this product and I didn't use it correctly.

Many are NOT septic tank friendly, chlorine bleach, used in high concentration will kill bacteria quickly. The same goes with toilet tissue and other paper products. Contact your local septic system operator. Most will be happy to make recommendations. Amazon also carries many safe for septic products. While most people don't think twice about things they flush, some items which reek havoc on the septic tank are diaper liners and wipes, paper towels, and feminine hygeinic products. These products are slow to breakdown if they break down at all, and will make up the bulk of the space occupying sludge.Septic shock is a must, a name you can trust and it's use is no fuss.
