I ordered this keyholder a few weeks ago. It arrived promptly, nestled in a small black rectangular box with velvety black lining. The clear plastic outer cover has a sticker with TROIKA® on it, a picture of the keyholder, the patent number and a company Web address. There are two other small stickers, one with a TROIKA address in Germany and another saying the product was designed by TROIKA in Germany, made in Taiwan. Inside is a small trifold piece of paper with patent information. Only TROIKA® is engraved on the back of the keyholder. This might matter, or it might not.The keyholder is as others have said - feels well made, nice size and weight in hand, works smoothly, rings easy to get on and off, actual rings are SMALL, etc. The only regularly used key I don't have on it is my car key. Like another reviewer's, my car key is too bulky to put on a small ring directly, but I will likely add it using a slightly larger ring. I've used the holder every day with no problems so far. Compared to the traditional rings I used, I have not had so many keys fold up so tightly and neatly in my hand before. It's probably not true, but my keys feel lighter and do not seem to make as much noise.A little over a week later I ordered a second one for less-used keys, and it arrived today. Unlike the first which was sold and shipped by Amazon, this one was from another seller and fulfilled by Amazon. The cover is heavy stock black paper, and the only sticker on it has just an item number and bar code. A patent document did not come with it. Neither the package nor the holder says TROIKA anywhere. The second holder is also in a box with velvety black lining. Instead of TROIKA®, the back of this holder is engraved with a U.S. patent number, just like in one of the customer photos. In the short time I've looked it over, to me it looks, feels and works just like the first. Unless someone's getting ripped off, it won't matter to me much that it doesn't say TROIKA® on the back.The last thing I'll add is my second holder cost about $6 less than the first, and the price today is $1 less than that. It is approaching the $10 mark.

After several instances of my old key holder opening at the most inopportune times or in the most inopportune places, dropping a key under my car seat, in a parking lot, or what have you, I decided to do research and find a key holder on which I could rely. I decided to purchase this Troika Patent Keyholder. Coming from a simple large carabiner, I have not regretted this decision.I noticed right away that the construction of the key holder is solid, and it is obvious that care was taken to make it a quality product. The main body of the holder is a thin cylinder with a hollowed area around the outside. Six key rings and a carabiner are held onto the main body as they are each attached to a sphere too large in diameter to be released from the hollow. To detach keys, one must slide the switch toward the center of the cylinder and move a sphere in the designated section of the hollow.Some obvious positives to this design:- Keys will never accidentally detach. This center switch, streamlined to avoid accidental pressing, is spring-loaded, so on the slim chance an object strikes at the exact point to enable the release of keys, it would have to hold down the switch AND a key's sphere would have to be in the precise position to accidentally escape.- Intentionally removing keys is incredibly easy.- It is extremely customizable. Key spheres can be removed and placed on keys, key rings, or whatever trinket your heart desires.I have two complaints to make, but they are quite minor. It surprised me that Troika took such obvious pains to ensure quality of the product and yet did not take the same pains with its packaging.- The packaging did not include instructions, so it took me a couple seconds to discover how the holder worked.- The packaging also did not include information on where one might purchase additional key holder spheres. For me, six is plenty, but I imagine some customers may have an abundance of keys.Those now said, I would still highly recommend this product.

For years I used the traditional key ring to carry keys and accessories. Recently I began wondering if there is a more innovative way for keeping my keys and other EDC keychain items. I found the Troika on Amazon, and read many of the glowing five-star reviews, and decided to give it a try. Well, I've been using the Troika for about five weeks now, and can tell you that I would never go back to a traditional key ring. The Troika is a great solution! It feels lightweight for its size (which is good because it doesn't add much weight to your other items). When I get to the office, I use the lanyard clip to attach my laptop bag, and to clip it to the key hook on the inside of a closet door when I get home.Because of the swivels on each mini-ring, the Troika and all items wad up very easily in your hand, and lay flat in your pocket. I use the P-7 suspension clip to attach to the inside of my front pocket, and all the items hang together very flat and unnoticeable.The Troika also allows me to quickly and easily remove an item on my key ring. And putting it back on is just as easy. I was at the dealership to get my oil change last week. Removing the car key and handing it to the service attendant was a snap!If you want a better way to carry and store your keys and accessories, go with the Troika!

I've used similar keyrings before, you know, the ones hanging on rotary displays found at various outlets and all have been rubbish usually for one reason, the keys detach from the holder accidentally. The reason for this is the poor quality of the product, mainly the toggle spring being too weak and the detachable swivels being too sloppy in the holder. This German-made "Troika" addresses these issues vey well and is a very well made and tough-looking item and looks built to last. The only drawback, if there is one, is the high price. It's often said "That you only get what you pay for"...time will tell.
