LEKI Makalu FX Carbon AS Trekking Poles

I’m 5’9” and the lowest setting is just right. If you’re shorter, this won’t work. I’m partially paralyzed and use one stick for stability every day, even when walking the dog. This stick is comfortable and when I need to break it down (restaurants, planes and Ubers), it’s easy to handle and folds up to a small package. I can easily manage putting it together with one almost useless hand. I’m frankly amazed that the little thumb release works so well. It’s never collapsed on me unexpectedly. Not once. I did buy the rubber tip, which is necessary for almost everything I do.

Great Poles, however, I had to return them. Found them at a much lower cost. No reflection on the poles.

Love these trekking poles! Lightweight, easy to break down, and comfortable grips.

Light and sturdy walking poles. Bought them for El Camino de Santiago and they are a must. Very comfy and ergonomic, when folded they fit a small carry on.

Helps take the pressure off my legs when hunting with a heavy pack

I’m preparing for a series of spring through late fall backing packing trips starting with the Grand Canyon and the heading to the Eastern Sierra for summer and fall backpack and climbing trips. LEKI is my choice for trekking poles, the company has many models to select from, has excellent product details available for review and warranties their product for life. I’ve had many trekking poles over the years and these are simply the best, in terms of light weight, ease of use & ease of transporting them to & from the hike.

Lowering the rating to 1 as it broke after 14 month -- the tip bent and broke off, the pole latch stripped. My previous comment -- The compact size was the selling point for this nearly $200 hiking poles. Otherwise, a pair of $20 hiking poles from Costco would just serve the same purposes.

I simply love these poles. Really well made, lightweight poles with a shock absorbing tip. That really takes the edge off. My husband has the same poles but without the AS option, so we have been able to use them simultaneously for comparison. Conclusion: yes to the AS, it does make a difference. The other great feature of these poles is the top part of the grip. When going downhill, you have something ergonomic to lean on. Fits great in your palm. I would recommend these poles to everyone. Pricey, but well worth it!

Confortables mais un peu lourds .

Ich bin Rheumatikerin und bekam nach Wanderungen, oft schlimme Handgelenksbeschwerden, die Option - ohne Wanderstöcke zu laufen in bergigen Gebieten entfällt.. wegen des Rheumas. Ich schaute mich dann nach Wanderstöcken mit einer Dämpfung um und meine Wahl fiel auf dieses Modell. Okay, sie haben ihren Preis, aber für mich sind sie ein Gewinn, sind die Beschwerden nach Wanderungen deutlich geringer und ich habe mehr Freude an den Wanderungen. Weiterhin sind diese Stöcke leicht, gut im Handling ( auch mit eingeschränkter Beweglichkeit) . Ich bin wirklich zufrieden.

Impugnatura comoda anche dopo molte ore, puntale preciso negli appoggi, regolazione della lunghezza stabile ed affidabile, ma molto pesanti rispetto a top di gamma della concorrenza.
