ProtecClarinet/Oboe Thumb Rest Cushion

I've been messing with various accessories, and THIS is the best thumb rest for the money! (I've never had a Ton Kooiman thumb rest that I've heard raving reviews, but requires a custom installation and is far more expensive.)The gel material is a bit funny looking, so I bought a black rubber thumb rest instead... and my thumb gets tired and sore very quickly by comparison!I had both the large and small thumb rest cushions with the extended support. The only difference I can see is what kind of thumb rests they are designed to accomodate. I kept the small one for my clarinet as it fits my thumb rest the best.

Works well, more comfortable than thinner ones

Soft thumb rest pad for clarinet works great. The size small unit fit my un-altered 1970s Buffet R-13 just fine. The thumb rest pad moves your thumb down about 1/4" measured against the clarinet body. Fits fine in my clarinet case without removing. The gel material has a slightly tacky feel which should keep things from slipping.

It is super comfy and leaves my thumb mark free. It still fits in my case so don’t have to take it off when I put my instrument away but no madder how hard it try to push it on. There is a little bit of space in the rest that makes it so it’s not a perfect fit and has fell off a couple times and moves around while I am playing. Even though it has a couple imperfections I have hour long band classes everyday and would much rather pick up it up every once and a while then having my thumb hurt and impact my playing ability.

Been using this little guy for the past few months. Works very well, I really like how it doesn't slip around at all. Fits well in the clarinet case while still being attached to the thumb rest.

This one is just right!

I got this for my daughter's clarinet -- it has an oversized thumb rest. When we put this on she said it the cushion was nice, but she felt as if she was holding it funny. We adjusted the thumb rest as best we could and she tried it for a few days. She ended up just taking it off.

This is overall a very great product. I am a clarinetist that constantly struggles with pain in my right thumb due to extended periods of playing. This product is so helpful so I don't have hand pain after a concert!
