Great dimmer for L.E.D's and great speed controller for 12 volt fans.
The media could not be loaded. These are great as dimmers for L.E.D's and also as fan speed controllers. I use them as dimmers for fish tanks with L.E.D's. They can make the lights super dim and help prolong the life of the bulbs. My fish don't like bright light, so it helps them come out more as well.I also use them as fan speed controllers. They help the fans run quieter and consume less power while being ran on battery power.I have installed about 12 total units over the past couple of years and have only had 2 stop functioning properly. One died due to me using it improperly, so technically only one has failed with normal use.Sometimes they come defective out of the package, so I test them all upon receiving them. I have had about 3 out of 16 units arrive defective, but I was able to return the defective units for replacements easily through Amazon.I got the plastic crayon box from Walmart to house them and mount them on the wall.

Just What I Needed!
I'm using this to provide a fan speed control on a small inline 12V DC bilge fan motor (2.5A max current). The off position gives a nice audible "click" and saved me having to add another switch.I haven't tried bypassing this to guage whether there's any power reduction at the "max width" setting. That would be disappointing, so might have to adjust review downward if that happens.Average Current usage definitely drops off as pulse width is narrowed, great for lowering overall power usage. My fan can run all day long on a 16aH battery. The controller doesn't seem to get warm, and construction/soldering looks decent. The thin capacitor next to the rotary control sticks up and is bent around easily, so be sure to mount this in an enclosure where parts and fingers won't contact.

Small, effective, and versitile! Great value with lots of uses
I used this to control fans on the back of my RV refrigerator. I used real estate in a big empty space behind the fascia, tapped the 12v coming into the fridge, and ran to back of fridge through a passthrough. I used a piece of an e-toothbrush cover to make the light visible throgh a hole in the cover (be careful cutting!!!!). Hard clear plastic bends the light well! This works great!!! Can turn fans on/off and adjust the speed. Good steady range of power. Cheap and easy enough to access if this unit fails.Reliability: three of the four worked great out of the box (the fourth got handled roughly by me and didn't work). I used the other two to reaplace the fan switch on those white light/fan units that come with a pop-up camper (no pics, sorry). The red light in that case is just barely visible through the white plastic. Go ahead and buy some! I've had great luck with these controlling small fans!!!

Perfect to get speed control out of our Motorhome / RV bathroom fan.
I have always hated how our Motorhome / RV bathroom fan only had a wide open on speed, this was loud and annoying. Last year I installed a different brand but it was large, hard to install, and never worked quite right. But this one was so much smaller and fits under the crossbar as shown in the picture. I Installed this little gizmo in about 15 minutes and now our fan can be turned from barely moving to full speed. This has been working everyday as needed, for about a week. I will re-post if it fails prematurely.

Very poor Quality product! Definitely not 5A continuous output!
I used this controller to control the speed of my DC fan used as a soldering exhaust. The fan is a 12V, 1.6A 120mm fan. Both pieces in the bag worked for about 2 min before they just ramped up to full speed and have no speed control at all. the have basically become just a on/off switch! The pad above the 555 time IC gets really hot after about 2 min of running a 250mA 12v DC motor. My guess is the 555 has internally shorted out and is just at 100% duty cycle. Very poor product or i seem to have got both defective pieces!!

Works like a charm
I paired this with the following BUCK converter:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085T73CSD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsAnd am running the motor and gear drive of an old hex bit driver in a housing and project box that I 3D printed.Beats using a potentiometer as a variable resistor hands down.Handles 2.5 to 3 Amps like it was nothing.

They control speed fine but the wire terminal did not lock wires in very securely.
These worked great at making the fans on my 24v 3d printer quieter but the wire terminals did not hold on very securely and the wires could be easily pulled out (hence the 3 stars). I removed the terminals and soldered the wires in the thru holes. At full throttle the fans were quieter, don't know if this from parasitic loss slowing the fans down or the controller cleaning up noise from the PS. Too lazy to multimeter or scope it out and i don't have a tach, I just wanted things quieter. I did not notice any audible line noise added to the fans but I have a slight hearing loss. Also used them to control the 24v Led strips I had on the printer and the on/off feature was a bonus. I don't need so much fine tuning here and will change this controller to one of those touch buttons.I would buy these again.

Speed control switch with ACC for brushless motor blower
I bought brushless motor blower from ebay.com then receive it then color wire then test but it are not working, color wire pink wire for (+), black wire for (-), try to assemble yellow or blue wire for acc (+) but not working, on Google how speed control found show picture by AliExpress.com about power wire (+/-) to brushless motor blower with power wire (+/-) to speed control switch add resistance 1K OHM and wire (-) to blue for (-), theb bought speed control switch by Amazon.com, i received then assemble it then tested brushless motors blower revving up are working, i are LUCKY
