Carbolic Household Soap 900g (2lb)

This is great stuff, used this to clean a property that has recently been sold. Cleaned up the shower room, bathroom tiles, floors, kitchen, oven, everything came up like new after using this. Works much better than some of these modern sprays you get now in my opinion, has a pleasant aroma too.Comes as a very large bar, but I actually find this a handy size, as this really lasts, and you can just grate what you need at the time.Would certainly make another purchase of this product when I get low on this one.

We bought this for cleaning a rental property that the tenant left in a right dirty mess. The tenant was a mechanic and they had motor grease over everything from doors, door frames curtains and cushion flooring. We set ourselves 3 days to clean the whole house as the grease and muck was everywhere. The kitchen cupboard were not just covered in motor grease but the dots of cooking grease, I washed with a micro fibre cloth and rubbed the soap bar then wiped down the cupboards and was amazed how much came off in the first wipe over no scrubbing second wipe over it was all gone. We grated up a small piece into hot water for the floors was expecting to be on my hands and knees with a deck scrubber but micro fibre mop to loosen the much it was almost completely clean so the second wash the cushion floor was like new no scrubbing. We washed down walls with another grated and placed in hot water and it cleaned wood work and painted doors without damaging the paint for motor grease I rubbed the cloth on the bar of soap first, same for cleaning the bathroom, Only 3 other specialist cleaners used was soap powder for laundry, washing up liquid for the crockery, cutlery and utensils and last but not least was toilet bowl cleaner. The bars of soap took out grease on curtains and bedding by running warm water on the grease then the soap bar letting it sit 10 minutes rinsing then rubbing again with the soap then in the washing machine, stains were almost all out on the first rinse so completely out before we washed them. We washed window pains and PVC frames and doors with the soap rinsed and everything was like new again. Used it on nose bleed blood on a light beige carpet and was gone ( cool water on micro fibre cloth rubbed the soap on a cloth then on the blood rinsed cloth wiped soapy bit on carpet rinsed cloth again and wiped and stain is gone). I don't mind the aroma left behind reminds me of the aroma that hospitals use to smell like. I thought this would be like Blue power but this is harder with better cleaning power. These bars will last me a long time I was not expecting them to be such good quality long lasting bars.No wonder grandma never looked busy she done it right the first time with carbolic soap. I don't know about anti bacterial but it sure cleans and leaves a clean feeling and smell. I bought a deck scrubber and they nylon scrubbing rectangles but they never got used as the soap cut through everything without any effort. Started using it in my own home as I have over a bar and a half left over, Really like the cleaning power works much better than all the sprays and floor cleaners under the sink so when that stuff is gone am just going to use the soap bars worked like magic on ceramic hob cooker scrapped with glass scrapper, wet micro fibre cloth rub the soap wipe and rinse and like new again. No waiting for anything to work it cleans right away. Used on a tomato sauce stained white shirt and was out first time 40c wash, damp stain rub the soap wait 5 minutes rinsed rubbed where the stain had been again and then washed, completely out first wash. Will find other things to use it on over time but that's what I used it on to date.

Decent enough carbolic soap. Maybe not the strong carbolic scent I remember from my childhood but it has the same consistency and it has been a long time since I was a child. Quite hard and so requires care when cutting into manageable sized pieces. I tried a kitchen knife with limited results. I ended up using a tenon saw and this worked fine.Very much a utilitarian block of soap. But that's what a block of carbolic soap is.

Carbolic makes cleaning a breeze. Cuts through grease with ease, you can clean just about anything with it. Baked on grime on oven trays wash off with minimal scrubbing once soaked for an hour or 2 in this. Can be used for stain removal too. Great for washing glassware and windows. Can be used for washing hard floors, decreases and makes them beautifully clean.

Did what someone else suggested, and warmed it up in the microwave before cutting into smaller bars. It's long and thin tho, so the bars you end up with are about half the size of a standard bar of soap.

Just falls apart into crumbs when cut to size
