Nice Book
Would have liked more info to back up the information. I have a Karmann Ghia and would have liked more info on that car than the bettle cabriolet.

Everything we always wanted to know about the Karmann VWs
Rating: 5 starsThis is an excellent reference as well as a great collection of photographs. There are reproductions of period advertisements, brochure pages, and publicity shots but there are also plenty of newer photos of the cars as they look today, in the hands of caring owners. The story begins with the VW Cabriolets, first the few made b by Hebmüller and others, before we get to the Karmann models. It's difficult to imagine just how much hand work went into the making of what were essentially economy cars. The tops were a work of art in themselves and were said to be strong enough to support the car if it was upside down. There are lots of photos of the cars and of details, including changes as the cars evolved. On p 74 we start the story of what would be called the Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia. Again there are lots of pictures and also lots of text giving the entire story. On page 142 we start the story of the 'new' Karmann-Ghia, the 1500. I thought it was a very attractive design but with the passing of time I feel that it hasn't stood up as well as the iconic original. The last chapter takes a chronological look at the Karmann model year by year, detailing the major changes and updates. This is a very useful book for people working on a restoration project and for those of us who just like the looks of the Karmann cars, it's an excellent read, worth every penny. Oh yes, the book is from Britain so there are many photos of right-hand drive vehicles in local specs but that doesn't detract from the book.

A Thorough Look at the History of VW Convertibles and Karmann Ghias.
This is a very thorough look at the development and production of all VW Beetle Convertibles as well Karmann Ghia coupes and convertibles. Hebmuller- produced 2-seat Beetle convertibles are covered as well as the 1500/type 3 Variants and other VW Beetle-based models. Many photographs in color and black and white of vehicles and badging as well as related literature. Easy to read too. Richard Copping knows his stuff!

Karmann Ghia- what can you say?
Great read. Added bonus of what my T34 looks like as the featured car was the same colour... sweet. A must have for Karmann Ghia owners
