Adventures in the Afterlife is a powerful journey ofspiritual awakening; a bold quest for answers andenlightenment. The old assumptions of heavenare confronted and an expansive new vision of ourcontinuing life is presented. After being diagnosedwith cancer, William Buhlman, author of Adventures Beyond the Body, pursued answers to the mysteries of our existence after death. Confronting his mortality, he experienced profound insights into what lies beyond our physical body. Our journey into the next life is the basis for Adventures in the Afterlife. The author chronicles his out-of-bodyexperiences and lucid dreams through the eyesof a fictional character, Frank Brooks. The insights are sometimes surprising, but a clear message is always apparent; we are powerful, spiritual beings and we shape our reality now and in the future. The purpose of this book is to prepare us for the many thought responsiveenvironments we will experience.William Buhlman teaches and lectures worldwide onthe subjects of out-of-body experiences and spiritual empowerment. Review: Another favorite The Most Eye-Opening Exploration of the Afterlife I’ve Ever Read - When I first opened this book, William Buhlman—as always—did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very first pages. But I’ll be honest: in the beginning, I found myself a little unsure of where the story was going. I even paused and wondered, “Is this a fictional novel? What exactly am I reading?” It felt different from what I expected and momentarily threw me off. But I pushed on. By page 50, everything clicked. The purpose and structure of those early chapters suddenly became clear—and once I understood them, I realized how powerful and important they really were. Those first few confusing pages aren’t just setup; they’re the foundation that makes the entire journey that follows so much deeper and more meaningful. Once it all connected, nothing felt confusing at all—it flowed perfectly. By page 70, I absolutely could not put the book down. I picked it up on Friday morning over Thanksgiving weekend and finished it by 9 a.m. Sunday. Yes—it was that good. So let me say this clearly: if you feel unsure at the beginning, please keep going. Those early pages pay off in a huge way. They’re essential to the build-up of what comes next, and the moment they click, the whole book opens up. This book is a must-read. It opens the mind’s eye and offers a deeper understanding of what it’s like in the realities beyond physical life. I’ve read many books on this subject, but none have shown me what it’s really like “over there” the way this one does. This is a powerful “death book” in the best way— a preparation for the future, a preparation for your own evolution, and a guide for living more consciously today. It’s a book that enriches every stage of life—whether you’re seeking inspiration now or clarity about what comes later. An absolutely amazing, eye-opening, inspirational ride. Misty Review: An important book to read for those looking for answers about out of body experiences - I became a fan of William Buhlman after I listened to his audiobook, "How to Have an Out-of-Body Experience: Transcend the Limits of Physical Form and Accelerate Your Spiritual Evolution." After reading "Adventures in the Afterlife," I feel this book is an important book in the study of OBE's and afterlife as the ideas he propounds are quite profound and to me make a lot of sense. This book is truly groundbreaking with the ideas on our spiritual nature. Mr. Buhlman masterfully describes this all in a down to earth, easy to read manner. The first part of the book describes the experiences of a fictional character's experiences in the after life. Much of what's described is also described by the fictional character is what Buhlman describes of his personal experiences in the "How to Have an Out-of-Body Experience" CD. In the second part of the book, Buhman goes into depth about the true nature of soul and so many billions of souls are trapped in the denser planes of existence, doomed for reincarnation. He gives us a stark warning of the dangers we have in our spiritual evolution, and guidance on how to avoid these pitfalls. One of the most profound ideas I found in this book was how our thoughts in our physical form literally reverberate through the universe. We have enormous creative power with our thoughts which creates reality not just for ourselves but literally can create reality for others. This is why consensus realities exist in the astral plane and why our it is said that our subtle-body appearance in the astral plane is a reflection of our "prime" physical beauty, since that's what we want to be seen as. Our thoughts are extremely powerful and we should take care in them to make sure they are always positive in nature. What is so convincing to me about the ideas in this book is that I can relate with a personal experience. I once experienced the vibrational state which lead to a lucid dream. What struck me most about my lucid dream was that I literally was able to create things that felt real. It's very hard to describe the experience but whatever I thought of was instantly created in my lucid dream and it was real in every sense of the word. My personal experience confirms Bulhman's idea that in the higher, subtle planes, our thoughts are literally *everything* and impacts everyone. Following this train of thought, it then makes perfect sense that earth is a good training ground for souls as thought in the physical form takes the longest to manifest to reality. The slowed down environment of the physical form is absolutely perfect for less evolved souls to grow without wreaking havoc to the higher level dimensions. As the adage goes, we must learn to walk before we learn to run. This book taught me that I can immediately take action right now in my physical form to evolve my soul. Just a simple act of managing my thoughts to keep them positive is a step in the right direction. Those who succeed in the growing spiritually in the denser planes are freed from the endless struggles billions of soul have, doomed to repeat with reincarnation. Only until we finally "get it" do we graduate to a higher plane of existence where heaven truly is. These are the ideas that Mr. Buhlman tries so hard to teach us in this book. I highly recommend it for those looking for answers on spiritual growth.

The afterlife revealed by experience with it.
A first-hand account of the higher dimensions of the afterlife is what William Buhlman shares in Adventures in the Afterlife. Mr. Buhlman is a recognized expert on out-of-body (OBE) and near-death experiences (NDE). Like Robert Monroe, he discovered how to initiate OBEs at will and explore the higher dimensions. When faced with his own mortality in the form of cancer, he turned his OBE experiences to the subject of the afterlife. AN AFTERLIFE OVERVIEW In Mr. Buhlman’s previous book, Adventures Beyond the Body, he describes his discovery of how to induce an OBE and his initial explorations of the nonphysical dimensions. He even provides some suggestions on how to achieve that state yourself. In Adventures in the Afterlife, Mr. Buhlman weaves his experiences into a narrative description of the look and functioning of the afterlife. He does this in Part One (ACCELERATED EVOLUTION) through telling a fiction about a man, Frank Brooks, who dies of throat cancer. Frank’s first taste of the afterlife is in a “heaven” modeled after the traditional religion he followed in his physical life. It is a place of “red-brick, colonial-style houses, each with a white picket fence and slate stones leading to a covered front porch.” His deceased mother lives in one of these houses and he reunites with her. They live in this place together, among like-minded people, attending church services and bible studies. This heaven is a pleasing place for Frank until questions build in him that those around him can’t answer. He finally strikes out on his own to explore the wider reaches of “heaven.” What he finds is higher dimensions and teachers who guide him in exploring them. This exploration includes schools where he learns how the universe really works and how to progress spiritually. Frank throws himself into this education, finding in it a greater, more fulfilling perspective on what the universe really is and how it works. In Part Two (PREPARE FOR YOUR ADVENTURE), Mr. Buhlman expounds upon the material he presented fictionally in Part One. This includes the power of directed concentration and meditation, the importance of nonattachment, states of mind in the afterlife, and the nature of the “heavens” people find after death. Much of Part Two describes methods for developing our spiritual awareness to better live in this life and prepare for the next. Mr. Buhlman emphasizes developing your creative ability, observing your thoughts, and losing attachments through meditation. Part Two contains a chapter on “Questions and Answers” concerning OBEs and the afterlife. The book concludes with a glossary and a few diagrams that should help readers new to this material to better visualize it all. BASED ON MR. BUHLMAN’S BRUSH WITH CANCER The fiction in Part One is based on Mr. Buhlman’s struggle with cancer in 2011. He recovered, but used the experience as the foundation for his story of Frank Brooks, who dies and subsequently experiences the afterlife. That Frank’s story is based on Mr. Buhlman’s comes from the book blurbs and the Bio Page on Mr. Buhlman’s website. This isn’t noted in this book’s text. That’s probably good, as I take it the story is meant to illustrate points about OBEs and the afterlife rather than about Mr. Buhlman (who speaks about his bout with cancer in Monroe Institute videos). There are a number of important and uplifting points stressed in Adventures in the Afterlife. These include our nature as multidimensional beings, what death really is, the importance of realizing our creative abilities, and the thought-responsive nature of the higher dimensions. ILLUSTRATIVE STORY AND DIAGRAMS To begin with, I was dubious about Mr. Buhlman using the device of a fiction to introduce the material in this book. He begins the story without preamble or commentary. On retrospect, though, I think it was a good choice, especially for readers not used to this subject. The story provides an illustrative reference for the book’s second part. I have read many books and articles on OBEs, NDEs, religion and spirituality. I think this book provides a really good distilling of all this material. How close to the truth it is, I can’t say. I suspect, however, that it is pretty close. I liked, very much, the “Techniques for Change” presented in Chapter Six, especially the guided meditations. The points he makes here are similar to some I’ve run across elsewhere and have found helpful. The “Questions and Comments” in Chapter Nine present the “bottom line” for all that’s come before—in this book and others on the subject. This is “the chase” that the rest of the book leads to. I especially liked the last section of Diagrams. These are four illustrations depicting the concepts presented in the rest of the book. Along with the beginning fiction, they provide a foundation the reader’s thinking about the transdimensional realms of the universe. MAKES SENSE OF A PARANORMAL SUBJECT This book is as clear a description of the way the universe is constructed and works, based on peoples’ experiences with the spiritual dimensions, that I have seen. I have been reading this kind of material for a long time and Adventures in the Afterlife, to me, makes the best sense of it all.

Adventures in the Afterlife Takes it to the Next Level
I've been reading afterlife books for many years, and William Buhlman's Adventures in the Afterlife takes our understanding of the afterlife to the next level. Yes, when we leave our bodies behind and transfer our consciousness to another frequency... or, when we transition from this world... there is more than one "heaven" or afterlife that awaits us... we choose our afterlife based upon our consciousness. Life never ends; life is very active in the afterlife! William Buhlman has been having out-of-body adventures for the past 40 years... he is an expert in out-of-body travel and what awaits all of us when we leave this world... this dimension... this frequency... and walk thru the door to our afterlife. If you imagine for a moment that we all live in a dark cave... William Buhlman is the man who has left the cave and has discovered worlds beyond our dreams or imagination... and he is telling us not to be afraid to leave the cave and to explore the magnificent worlds that await all of us. What could possibly be more exciting?

Recommended for anyone new to the subject
While I enjoy William Buhlman's other books, and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in the subject, this one was too simplistic for me. Remi the guide and Bill's realizations became very repetitive for me, and perhaps it is just me, but I found myself going "okay I get it already". Perhaps it is because I expected a different type of fictional story, or I would have preferred if William made this another non-fiction book. It did cover many interesting topics that I believe to be facts at this point in my life and for anyone who hasn't read everything under the sun on the subject this may be just the book for you. I am not disappointed I got this book purely for the fact that I love the author and would happily support him, but this book is not for me.

Good Book! Very Helpful!
This is not a "how to" book. It is a fictional story, based upon Buhlman's own life and experiences. It takes the reader through the transition, afterlife experiences, and reincarnation of the book's main character (Frank). I think that the book is excellent, and I will take time (at some length) to explain why below. I have now read all of William Buhlman's books. You can see my book reviews on each of them on Amazon. I personally did not intend to read 'Adventures in the Afterlife', as I pretty much know what I will do when my time to transition from this physical existence arrives. However, I have a 90 year old parent who (after the transition of my father nearly 3 years ago) has been mentally preparing for the afterlife and asking many questions about what her life might be like with my father on the other side. Since developing my own OBE practice, I have been chatting with mom about my own adventures in dreaming, OBE's and contacts with the non-physical. In one experience, after his death, my father came and spoke to me. I shared this with her and about my early experiences in the RTZ (real time zone). The RTZ is essentially a mirror copy of our physical reality (but it is not physical), and is energetically the closest reality to us. During our discussions, I could see that mom was not quite understanding all that I was talking about. However, she reads voraciously (fiction), so coaxed her into reading this particular book with me. She did. Buhlman's book, Adventures in the Afterlife, was the perfect context from which to share my own developing perceptions and experiences with her. It does not engage the reader in techniques, but it does provide a complete, conceptualized, experience-based picture about what the afterlife might be like - especially for someone from a predominantly protestant family. After reading 3 of his books, I can tell you that Buhlman is excellent at conceptualizing difficult topics. So, I knew that I could trust him as an author to guide my 90 year old mom gently through an account of transition, the afterlife and possible reincarnation. This book did that very well, and this is why I am giving it 5 stars.

For the Living and the Dying
William Buhlman has done it again. For the third time, he has written a book that is intriguing, entertaining and thought provoking. Buhlman is an adept at going out of body, remaining out for a long time, and remembering what he experienced. He's an explorer who visits other dimensions, including the afterlife, and returns to tell us what he found. He's a one-topic author, but every new book is unique and completely different than the last; it's not just a rehash of the old information. This book is a must-read for anyone who is facing death and wants to know what's on the other side. Actually, since we're all going to die, I recommend it to everyone; it will prepare you for eternity. You'll know where to go when you cross over. You won't get stuck for eons in the belief-system territories. It's also for everyone who's going to go on living for a long time; it will make you a better person knowing what the spirit guides on the other side teach.

Made me cry
At first, I read the first three paragraphs and got to the point where the author states, "I realized that heaven was only for Christians and god knows where the atheists go - some awful place I am sure." I nearly threw the book away at this point, but kept on reading, and very glad that I did. He was being snarky, of course, but at that point, I thought I had bought the wrong book. After a lifetime of involuntary OBEs that I fought (no no no!), I realize that i should have said "yes." I am ready now. And right on cue, I had my first OBE in more than 30 years last week, which was a huge shock. I had lost my husband and when he died I read adn read adn read and read about what happens after we die, and Buhlman just takes it one step (many steps) further. It was new information, but also very familiar information. Quoting him, "I now realize that I am not as evolved as I thought I was." And, that's what made me cry. I have a lot of work to do.

Mind Opening
So glad I stumbled across William’s previous book, Adventures Beyond The Body — it’s a real tour de force! Best book I have ever read (and I have read tons). This is the second book I’ve read by him, and really enjoyed reading it. It’s taught me a lot about other dimensions including things I’ve never heard from listening to many NDEs. Main take-away is I want to become a multi-dimensional traveler, an angle in my next chapter, and am relieved to hear I may have the choice not to come back to this slow, dense reality. I am looking forward to exploring more during my nascent journeys out of body, and hope to one day explore further like William has. I enjoyed this book so much (read it on my Kindle in 3 days), that I got a few print copies for friends and family. The copies arrived in pristine shape. Can’t wait to spread the word — this could change people’s destinies for all eternity! I also suddenly realized I will be choosing cremation thanks to a passage in this book after wondering about that for years (was raised Jewish, so that wasn’t an option). Now understand why it’s important to get rid of the shell to increase the odds of your soul moving on more efficiently.

The author has clearly spent much time organizing it’s content in an easily digestible way
This book is dynamite! Every sentence imparts profound knowledge in a totally comprehendible way to even the uninitiated. The author has clearly spent much time organizing it’s content in an easily digestible way, and the net result is a book I could not put down for a second. I found myself smiling while reading it, as every paragraph unfolded, and as if to take a familiar comfort in it’s message. I cannot stress the importance of this book enough and if you are even vaguely curious as to life’s deeper meaning(s), I would start your quest with William Buhlman’s Adventures in the Afterlife.

A must for all people interested in OBE and Spiritual growth
Mostly written like a novel, this books explains the possible evolutions of soul after what we call death. Based on 40 years OBE experience this book is not fantasy but gives a glimpse to what is to be expected once we leave our physical body for ever. Leave your beliefs and religions behind and take the trip to eternal life.
