I’ve hunted various duck stands over the years, but this is hands-down the best option for cattail sloughs and marshes. Bought this because my dog was trained on a raised platform and I want to keep her out of the water and warmer in the Michigan cold hunting seasons for ducks. This thing is sturdy as hell and my dog Skye loves it. The place that we hunt is very mucky and tons and water in the area but the feet on this stand are incredible and keep the stand out of the muck and was able to hold a 50 lbs dog out of the water for a 6 hours hunt on 2 dfferent day. Of all the stands I've purchased over the years, this one is the most convenient. They are very durable (not indestructible- it's a harsh environment). Wrestling with a dog, gun and gear, and the cold, trying to get set up and quiet before shooting time is not the time for snap pins, or other adjustments that take a full two gloveless hands. Pull the chords, slide the legs, find a somewhat flat bottom and you are good to go.
