Swing Set Playground Rubber Mulch 75 Cu.Ft. Pallet-Chocolate Brown

Love the color. Our previous order has now kept its color in a high altitude arid climate for 3 years. From a distance you can't tell that it is rubber, and even upclose it is not obvious unless you know what you are looking for. The only issue is on steep inclines. The mulch doesn't "stick" together; it stays soft and squishy. So, if you put it on a steep incline it has a tendency to move down the hill with weather and especially if you (or any animals) walk on it. It is easy to just rake it back up when needed, maybe once a year. Tree debris and leaves really don't stick to it well, so we have not had much issue with needed to clean natural debris off the top. We also installed it in an arid (less leaves) and windy area, so maybe that has played a role was well. Shipping is great; tracking is good and they will call to be sure you are home. They often cannot bring the pallets up or down a driveway so expect it to be left at the curb or the bottom (or top) of your driveway if you don't have a really flat driveway.

The mulch is awesome and exactly as described. It is providing a safe and easy to maintain play area for my kids. I deducted 1 star because the shipping left a lot to be desired. Shipping took twice as long as expected.

The product description says 99.9% steel free. Well, I have to tell you, I found some steel without even opening up one of the bags! Luckily it was my hand that was punctured instead of my 3yo daughter's hand, face, or worse yet, eye. The big problem now is, how do I find the other steel that is probably lurking in the rest of the rubber mulch? So now I have a pallet of mulch that I'll probably be getting rid of because I simply do not want to chance it.

We ordered this rubber mulch for two sets of grandchildren (different homes) and it has worked out great! There was a snafu with delivery to one of the homes, but Kidwise made it right and everyone is happy! Definitely would order from them again!

The product is what the vendor advertises, except for the volume they claim for each bag (1.15 cu. feet). While spreading the mulch under the swing set, the volume appeared less than advertised, so I tested 3 bags and found each to contain only 1 cu. foot, or 10% less.

This is exactly what I was hoping for... keeps our play area clean, soft, and beautiful. I was worried that the dark color (chocolate brown) would be exceptionally hot in our Arizona summer, but---putting my hand on it versus the sandy desert ground---the mulch was actually less hot. It is plenty heavy, and doesn't blow away in our high winds. After reading reviews about metal concerns, I purchased a "metal rake" and spread the entire first batch (2000 lbs) with that rake, and didn't find even a single piece of metal! (The rake definitely works, because I found plenty of nails etc. on other parts of our property.) The second pallet had a bit more "rubbery insulation type" pieces in it than the first, but nothing bad. In the photo, you can also see the rubber edging strips I got from Kidwise, which I equally love.

We bought this rubber mulch to put around the kids' playscape and love it. Two boys who seem to go out of their way to find new ways to attack the playscape and each other. The rubber mulch has been incredible. It arrived on a pallet in 35 pound bags. Moving them was easy and allowed me to organize them to see where they would cover. In two years they have not lost their color (we got brown). They have a good spring to them and they are easy to care for. Raking our blowing our leaves picking by hand the small twigs that end up in there somehow. I bought a second supply the following year to fill in areas that saw the most use, as well as to add additional cushion. No splinters, no scraped knees, no sprained or broken anything! The worst is that they get into their clothes while wrestling. I'll never use anything else, and because the quality of the product Kidwise delivered, I would trust them again even if they were not the lowest price.

We bought this for our backyard playground. It really made everything come together and look fantastic. We bought two pallets worth and in all the dumping and spreading we did never found any metal. My daughter is always taking her shoes off and I think this will be so much nicer on her feet then the gravel. We planned for 3" deep rubber and ended up with some left over bags which is nice so we can fill in the holes as everything settles in. Great product!
