Best Stock Replacement Ever
I have a 07 Acura TL type S, got tired of the crappy 8" sub that came with the car and decided to replace it. Well, I wont lie, I had to do some crazy mod's to get this in there to include taking a jigsaw to the bottom of the backdeck. Had to create a space big enough for the magnet to fit through. Well, after some other mods I had to do to get it to fit, even though this speaker is SEVERLY underpowered it sounds AMAZING... I went to a few different places in person to talk about something to power the sub with and found out that I would've done better getting a marine 8" speaker to replace it with because of the shallow mount and the fact that they don't need an enclosure (in case for anybody that's trying to do the same thing I did. However, I ordered an Audiopipe amp and from Amazon and saved about $100 there and as soon as I receive it will have PLENTY of power. I hope that this helps anybody thinking about getting this speaker, but I can only reply based on my experience. However my wife has 2 Punch P2-10's in her Mustang and with a 600 watt amp will rock your face off... I will update this review when I install my amp to talk about how much better it sounds. Hope I helped!

Awesome SQ
Awesome subs. Rockford Fosgate has been making high quality products for as long as they've been around. And these are no exception. Having owned Rockford, Sony, Sundown, Tantric, JL, and Kicker, I can easily say Rockford is one of my favorites. Obviously Sundown and Tantric are gonna have better SPL because of their extreme excursion and titanic motor size. But when it comes to sound quality and reliability Rockford takes the cake. I definitely could have gotten more sound out of them if I had tuned the box they're in a little higher, but at 33 hz they sound alright. I recommend if you're not a rap or dubstep listener to tune your box a little higher around 44-50 hz. I have 4 of them in a 2.6 c/f usable air space box. Nothing special, just well built, double baffled birch box. Pushing them with a Rockford R1200x1, birth sheet says 1310 watts, tuned with an O scope the amp is pushing 1287 watts clean power to them. Just over 300 apiece. I haven't metered them yet, but i'd estimate 140 db, maybe a little higher. Awesome subs for filling in the low end, but if you want alot of sound do at least 5 of them. And you can because they're cheap.

Not like the old version
This review is for a Rockford Fosgate P2SD2-8. I have previously purchased the older version of this subwoofer from around 2003 from crutchfield, and that version died a little bit before this review. It lasted a long time. But that version only required 150w to produce 83 decibels, this version requires 250w. Seems odd to me that the newer version is less efficient than the older (or very older in my case). Anyway, it fit my box with the screw holes in the exact same position. I heard a distortion in one of the two subs in my box. It was from the sub on that side drawing air through the drill holes, or maybe the larger hole. A large amount of silicone fixed that issue. So if you hear the sub distorting, try using more silicone around the the holes. This was my second purchase of this item, from Amazon itself. Previously I purchased from a third party seller, Absolute Pro Music, which sent it via USP with signature verification. They did not tell me that a signature would be a requirement for a $100 item. I've previously purchased camera lenses for $x,xxx without needing a signature. WTF, right? So when UPS came and I wasn't there, it got sent back. It took about two weeks to return back, and then I waited two weeks for a refund. A whole month. Eventually I contacted amazon customer support and forced a refund. Just make sure the "sold by" field is by Amazon, and not a third party. I have no idea why they had a third party for this item by default even though amazon sells the item themselves. You can select Amazon in the "Other sellers on Amazon" list.

Much cheaper options out there. Weak. Defective?
Very stiff on arrival. Maybe it needs a long break in. With any power it cracks and pops. The worst initial experience with a subwoofer ever! I will try to get it setup and broken in before I decide to return. I should have gone with a different model or brand maybe. I love RF products and wanted to keep with the family. It is installed in a custom sealed box that is about .25 cf. Next few days will tell but right now I am not happy. My door speakers seem to over power this sub. Mine may be broken because it does sound good at very low volume. With any more volume beyond 1/3 it cracks and pops. I'm only @ about 250w.Update: I returned it on Aug 21. I am still waiting for my return as of Sep 17. UPS lost it I guess.Update 2: Sept 29, still have not got a refund. Not happy.Update 3: Amazon finally refunded the order. Seller was having difficulty with UPS and couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it in a reasonable time. Not sure this was the fault of the seller or not. They were very slow to respond and each time it seemed like the first time I contacted them.

Rockford P2 8inch 4ohms
Ok so I didn't really get to use it what I intended it for because it is a tall sub. But I did not return it because I had already taken it out and didn't really want the hassle of shipping it back because of my stubbornness. I did manage to use it for a home stereo set up. Basically gutted a old radio shack Optimus speaker box and installed it in there. It looks pretty bad ass and fit perfectly. It sounds pretty good but definitely not hitting its potential. Needs lots more juice. But over all it came packaged nice and protected I like using sonic electronix for car audio. I go directly to there site find what I need then order it through amazon. Overall the sub is nice and tight if you got room try one its def a good sub. Unfortunately I gotta use 1 of 2 subs a ken wood or a kicker comp rt oh well mistake
