Maida Heatter's Brand-New Book of Great Cookies

This book was listed as Used: Like New or Used: Very Good, I can't honestly recall. What I know is that the condition should have been "Used: Better Than New". How can something be better than new? When it was used gently by someone who cared about the content. There were several recipes that received brief reviews, and there were even some production tips left behind, e.g. "Soak Overnight". So I offer my thanks to both the notetaker and the purveyor. Thanks.P.S. To those who sell non-fiction, this sort of "defect" may be seen as valuable to the users. YMMV

Delightful, interesting, & helpful writing style for recipes. This book contains many bake-worthy cookies & bars. With a hundred or two miscellaneous cookbooks on my shelves, this is the greatest compilation of cookie/bar recipes in one book that I have.The only photos are on the cover. These recipes are not so complex that assembly/mixing photos are necessary, but I do like photos of the finished product. Nonetheless, this is an absolutely great cookie book. It belongs on the shelf of every mother in America.

I love Maida Heatter and this book has lots of recipes for everyday to fabulous cookies. The book arrived quickly, well packaged, and in excellent condition.

Loved Maida Heater for years, fun to have a new cookie book. Best of all was the vendor who sent it to me. Enclosed a nice note, almost felt like a gift!

Two of my favorite cookies are in this book, "Palm Beach Brownies with Chocolate Covered Mints" and "Palm Beach Biscotti". Her recipes are very detailed and easy to follow, she doesn't leave anything to chance. Having these two recipes is well worth the price for the book. Great gift for a new cook.

I have been baking for many, many years, many years, and have a room full of cookbooks. Until I found Maida Heather in the last few years, I didn't really know how to bake. She is a fantastic teacher with many "tricks" that I'd never even heard or thought of. Any book by her is an investment that you will never regret. I would suggest giving her books as gifts to your baking friends. They will be eternally in your debt - plus you'll have amazing desserts!! I have not made one recipe of Heather's that hasn't been received with 100 satisfaction, and I bake daily. Her books may be getting scarce, so I would stock up while you can.

This is by far the best cookie cook book I've ever owned. Maida Heatter has other cookie books with similar titles, but they shouldn't be confused with this one. This one is the best. It is out of print, but I have purchased several whenever I find them to give to friends. I especially love her biscotti recipes. I get rave reviews whenever I make them and am often asked to do so. If you can find a copy of this book, and you like to bake cookies, don't hesitate.

The recipes turn out just as written. Recipes are easy to follow and the cookies taste great. Informative
