Really good cheap cutters. As a generator spark (fully qualified 😎) Used on as big as single core 150mm non armoured mains cables and cut easily. 32mm 3 core swa tough but use some elbow grease and it slowly gets through without damage. Really impressed

On my second pair of these, cutting 6mm3c pvcswa on a daily basis, still doing their thing just fine, BUT again the spring on the handle has shattered and the handle has gone all floppy, they still work, just not as intended, does anyone know if a replacement spring is available anywhere, I will buy another set as they’re great but feel bad that such a simple part can render them less usable

These are a really good budget ratchet cutter.Although they’re rated for copper and aluminium, I’ve been using them on SWA cable for well over a year and they haven’t faltered once. They’re still sharp and cut through cleanly with very little effort.I’ve even managed to cut a 5 core 95mm² H07 flex with them. It was a bit of a struggle, but they still got through it, which says a lot about their capability.The ratcheting mechanism works smoothly and gives you good control when cutting larger cables.Overall, a very capable and durable cutter for the price that performs better than expected.

Work great with all flexes I’ve used so far, and I know they are not meant to used for cutting swa but I have used them to cut 35mm2 5core swa and although was tough they got through it, seemed to struggle with the smaller swa (1.5mm2)

After a few usages and light cable cuts , mainly 50mm earth, the spring came off and the ratchet doesn’t close anymore.. o recommended

Had been looking at sets of these for work but they were hundreds of pounds. Was recommended these by a colleague so at the price they were gave them a chance and ordered a set.Came well packaged and are good quality. Have no problems cutting through various sizes of cable and as they are being used the blade seems to be getting sharper. For the price these work very well and do exactly what they are intended too. I will definitely replace with another set when the time comes.

Had for one month, done some cuts with them after using them for a month the spring broke and it now takes 2 times longer to cut, easy to use, sharpe blade and okay value for money apart from falling apart in a month

These ratchet cutters are good for everyday use and function well , the only issue I have is the pin to keep them closed could be better as they always open in my tool bag making them difficult to retrieve. That said, good product for the price they work as well as the more expensive alternatives.
