Fantastic Product!!
I love this stuff! But like some of the other reviews I've read, the hot part stops working after repeated use. I bet if you cut back to using it only a few times a month it would continue to be hot. Regardless, it really opens up your pores. I use this, then a shaving brush with some Proraso soap and get a super close shave every time!

The best “no-mess” Shaving Cream.
You only need a little. No foaming. Smooth shaving. Smells great. Light rinse and its gone.

excellent warming gel for shaving
Being a fan of Duke Cannon Superior Grade Shaving Cream, I had to try this when it came out. I was instantly impressed by two things: first, unlike any shaving cream, this gel is completely clear so you can see what’s under it; and second, the warming part really works – it feels great on the skin and also helps the shave go smoother. The only "downside" to this gel compared to the shaving cream is that I get no cuts when using the shaving cream, while with the gel I get one or two. I think that happens because the gel is much smoother and makes shaving so much easier that I tend to go faster than I would with the cream. So, those extra cuts are more due to the way I shave, and not the gel’s fault. Overall, this is my go-to when shaving with a razor (Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power). It seems that Duke Cannon has decided to discontinue this product, which is too bad. Once they're sold out of their stock I will have to look for another warming gel solution for shaving. It’s hard to go back to a regular shaving cream after this.Ratings: scent, 5 stars - pleasant but not overpowering; value for money, 4 stars - Duke Cannon products tend to be more expensive than a store brand but less expensive than designer brands; comfort, 5 stars - the warming and being clear really help with the shave.Pictured: the travel size version, and the now discontinued regular size.

Personally I love the product
The thing I don't like is that the can is no longer available so in the long run, I'm spending more money to get the same amount as what was in the can. What I like about the product is that if you rub it in and wait a full minute, the stuff heats up and makes the shave smooth and close. The fragrance isn't overwhelming I even use it for shaving my head. The cans have been discontinued and the tube is like a travel size.I'd recommend it though if you like the idea of a clear warm gel.

My son had me try it!
At first, I thought he's just liking newer things as I use foam in a can. I was happily surprised as this stuff gives you a really great shave without the scrapes and redness if you don't shave every day.

More of a Gimmick
I had used the Duke Cannon cooling aftershave before, so I decided to see if there is a hot shave product; sure enough Duke Cannon makes this Hot Shave Gel. Not only that, but they also sell the Hot Shave Gel and the Cool Aftershave together on their website. So I ordered the hot shave gel. I tried it just five minutes ago, along with the ice cool aftershave. First of all, the shave gel does not lather at all; this is more like a shave lotion. Also, the shave gel is totally clear, so you really have to make sure you get it where you want to shave. It is not hot immediately. I started feeling the heat after about a minute of it being on my face. The heat was nice. It wasn't an overpowering heat like I might have been hoping for; but it was definitely burning my skin to some degree. But finally, the reason I'm giving this gel 3 stars out of 5: It does not produce a smooth shave. The blade was definitely not slick and smooth against my skin like with my other shave products. The hot shave of course does produce some blade lubrication, but I could easily feel that it wasn't enough. After shaving, I used the cooling aftershave, and I can see why they sell these two together.Overall, the shave isn't that bad. It's worth a try. But if you enjoy your shaving routine, and enjoy a smooth shave, then this one probably isn't for you. I'll use this stuff sparingly; only because of the non-smooth shave.

Great stuff!
While my experience with this product has been nothing but the best (it warms nicely and gives me a closer shave than any other shaving gel I've tried), let me also address the issues another reviewer complained about.Reviewer stated he couldn't get it to lather - it isn't supposed to lather. Rinse your face with warm water, spread a small amount over area to be shaved, wait 20-30 seconds as stated in the directions (you'll feel it warm up), then shave. No lather necessary.Reviewer stated the chemicals burned his skin - I imagine it could if you spent too much time trying to make it lather. I've never had this issue either.I've also bought this product from a store, so this is not my first go-round with it. If I didn't think it worked as advertised, rest assured I wouldn't be buying more of it. This one is for my travel kit.

Followed directions and it did not self heat
The only heat was the warm water you mix it with. Thought this was self-heating but when mixed with a little warm water as the directions indicate, the shaving gel only got colder and never heated. Way too expensive to not work.
