As a husband currently confronted with a marital crisis of my own making, I desperately searched Amazon for books that might help me navigate these scary and uncertain times and find my way back to my wife. I quickly found and purchased half a dozen books and have began devouring them, including this one. The description, author biography, low price ($1.99) and large number of 5-star reviews had me quickly clicking "buy now".As a non-religious person, when I actually began reading this book I was initially very dismayed when I started seeing references to God and biblical scriptures. If I had read some of the low-star reviews that mention this, I probably would not have purchased this.......and that would have been my great loss. There is so much good information in this book, most of which stands on it's own without the religious content. I finished three of the other six books I purchased before beginning "If He Only Knew", and while the information in this book reinforces a lot of the concepts talked about in the others, the author communicates in a very personal and organic way that I found extremely helpful and comforting, making the information much easier to relate to and absorb. Some of the other books I've read, while also informative and helpful, often seem to be written by those with an academic psychological background which can sometimes feel a bit...clinical...for lack of a better term. As an analogy, while the other books might be perfectly prepared meals from a fine dining establishment, this book feels more like warm comfort food. Both can be appreciated and enjoyed for what they are, and do not take away from the other.Even if you are non-religious like myself, if you are a married man, you should read this book. If you aren't in crisis with your marriage yet, this book can help you prevent ever reaching that point. For those in crisis like myself, I believe the principles and lessons can absolutely help you find your way back to your partner and marriage if you are willing to put in the effort.If you can't get past the infrequent religious references to see all the great information presented here, you are still putting yourself and your beliefs first over your spouse. Instead, follow the teaching of Bruce Lee..."Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is essentially your own." Don't get hung up on petty details, do whatever it takes to put your spouse first.

This is a great book for any man who wants to improve his marriage. A good marriage is a constant journey for a couple, especially for those who are Christians. It's a continuous journey that, with constant working, it pays off in dividends.

It was informative. All men should read it. I knew most but not all. Keeps you grounded and appreciate who your with.

We can either fight to win our wives back or let the devil have them. Those are the only 2 choices. It all starts with us. The first part of the book is hard to swallow but if we are honest with ourselves as men, it’s all true. I was challenged by my pastor to read this book and study God’s word & I’m grateful to be surrounded by Godly men who don’t let each other justify their own sin but face each other when change is necessary. I’m grateful for this book & my Bible. In the first fifteen minutes I learned more about my wife than I learned in fifteen years. It is true as the book points out, we go through so much length and studies to learn about all sorts of things, but we don’t take the time to study and learn our wives. This book is a great study manual. I also know you can turn your marriage around and gain her love and trust much sooner if you take more action and effort. Cast all things aside and win back your wife. My wife and I were in a very ugly situation and from her mouth it feels like we are in our dating years again. Once you win her back, don’t stop, it’s a life long pursuit.
