Very Helpful Publication
I have the book and the DVD. The DVD clarifies things shown by still photos in the book. The book, by the standards of martial arts books, is actually very good. I am in a class learning the 24-postrues form. This book and DVD have been very helpful in helping me remember what we cover in class so that I can practice at home.

My go-to resource on the 24 postures form
I've practiced Taiwan's Shi San She form for a year before moving into the 24 form. This book is a great introduction to the form. It's not just the sequence, it also includes some nice theory about taijiquan, yin-yang, 5 elements, practice guidelines and each posture has a little tip, so you can correct yourself in many ways. This does not replace in-person instruction, but it's a great add-on! It has a nice description of each posture along with a few direct applications. There's a lot of juice in here. While this is a book for beginners to intermediate practitioners, it can be a valuable asset though your whole life. You never really get past the basics anyways.

A Very good book for native English speakers.
Books about Tai-Chi are hard to translate conceptually into English. This is true, even for Chinese/Americans who "test" as "native speaker" in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. "Parting the wild horses mane" means almost nothing to most Chinese writers. They have never seen a wild horse. It is impossible to convey meaning if it dose not exist. This s a good translation, teaches the principles of Tai-Chi and and Qigong without resorting to mythical non-sense.. I found it useful.

The Tai Chi Scholar.
I have practiced Tai Chi for 15 years. This is the one book that I recommend for anyone wanting to learn Tai Chi. Master Liang masterfully summarizes Tai Chi history and philosophy then dives right into the practice and postures. The book is simple, his wisdom humble, and the illustrations perfect. I doubt there will ever be another Tai Chi book like this again.

Very detailed DVD companion
This book is very helpful but I recommend using the DVD as well. I like the inclusion of the philosophy and historical background. The explanations of the forms is very detailed. I bought the book first and I don't think you could perfect the forms without adding the DVD.

Great book, make sure to get the video also.
Great book and video set, buy both, they go together. Application examples some the clearest I have come across plus lots of Kung Fu basics like breathing, chi kung and static postures. Highly recommend.

Arrived early and in new condition
This is a used book purchased at 25% of what the new book costs, but it doesn't look like it has ever been opened. And it arrived five days early. This seller undersold and by far over-delivered. I highly recommend them.

Really thorough book explaning the postures and several examples of how these postures are used in a martial arts application. Helpful in learning the steps by reading descriptions, listings and photos. Really helpful when paired with the DVD.

Attention !
