A great substitute for fresh in curries and stir fries
Fresh Thai basil keeps for all of half a minute in the fridge. Have tried various ways of preserving, planting, watering, etc, and some work better than others but when all's said and done if you're just putting it into sauce-based dishes this stuff is just as good and much easier to store (and more affordable, pound for pound). Only wish there was something similar for fresh kaffir lime leaves.

fresh is much better but this works for those without
Fresh is better but I rarely am able to find a bunch of Thai basil nor would I be likely to use an entire bunch before it goes off. These pots help with that. They add a great taste to my dishes and are a great substitute for fresh Thai basil. It’s packed with flavour. The leaves are minced but that’s to be expected in these kinds of preparations. It lasts really well in the fridge after opening tooI cook a fair bit of Thai food and find myself using this towards the end of cooking a lot. Really like it and glad to have it to hand in the cupboard or fridge. If you found this review in any way useful I’d be really grateful if you could hit the “helpful” button below and let me know :)

Great flavour, very convenient.
This little jar is a great substitute for the fresh Thai (sweet) Basil leaves with loads of the flavour of fresh leaves - as long as you don't mind them being minced as they are in this jar. They're expensive but weight for weight they are a bit cheaper than fresh leaves.

Five Stars
Great stuff for adding to thai dishes. I use it when I cant get hold of fresh thai basil.

NEARLY AS GOOD AS THE REAL THING!
Thai is probably our favourite cuisine, and I cook a Thai dish two or three times a week. We grow Thai basil during the Summer, but the supply of fresh can be a bit hit or miss, in the shops, during the Winter. This is why I buy the Thai Taste jars. The reason that I gave it 4 not 5 stars, is only because obviously it isn't as good as "the real thing", but it is a damn good substitute.Pretty impressive aniseed hit and, where fresh Thai basil starts to lose it's fab flavour after more than 30 seconds cooking, this seems to hold up better to longer cooking.Definitely worth trying!
