In a world where you get what you pay for.......
.......along comes this awesome Smittybilt Jerry Can Holder! This thing is well built and the powdercoat is really nice. Please don't believe it will "float" at the back of your tire, there's a separate adapter available for that mounting (search "Smittybilt 2740 I-Rack", or "Intelligent Rack", here on Amazon or check "The Bay"). This Jerry Can Holder has mounting holes on both long sides and it should be pretty easy to fabricate some form of suitable mount for it. As mentioned in other reviews, there are a bunch of rubber isolaters to keep your metal can off of the metal frame, they're not really secure---you'll want to get some self stick insulation to replace this, but it's no issue, really. You can leave the isolators in place if you never plan on removing the can from the holder (parade queen, like my buddies Jeep!); otherwise they'll pop out when you pull the can. Overall, I'm really impressed at the quality and appearance of this thing for the money!

A Jerry can bracket for my off-road van.
I was looking for an inexpensive, but well made Jerry can bracket, and I finally found one. The bracket is made from welded angular steel and includes a metal strap to go over the Jerry can. I mounted the Jerry can bracket on the back door of my van which I go camping with. I used a Jerry can other than their recommended one and so the metal strap would not fit, but I had an old bicycle cable and lock that is perfect for it. Even though I didn't use the metal strap, I would not hesitate to recommend this Jerry can bracket to anyone needing to carry extra fuel. My only caution is that if you plan to use a Scepter Jerry can with it, you will have to modify the bracket, but if you do so you will have the best bracket you can buy.

Very good product
I opted to use these with the 20 liter Jerry Cans I bought from British Atlantic. I bought two. They are nearly perfect. The cans fit with a bit of extra room, but the strap secures them just fine. I mounted them to the A-frame of my trailer with self tapping bolts. Make note that you have to get your own mounting hardware. As mentioned by others, the rubber bumpers are almost useless; I plan to use them until I lose them and then use something with an adhesive back. Don't expect the lock hasp to stop someone determined to steal the cans, as the strap has several weak points that could be defeated with enough force. That said, the can won't come out of the holder bouncing down the road. My cans have the NATO offset spout, and a plastic clip that the filler clips into for storage. I actually welded a tab onto the strap that will hold the filler into the clip so I can keep them on the can and not lose them. Once I made these tweaks, I was very happy with the result.

Better than expected!
There are times when you hesitate to buy online because things look different in person. This was better than expected! Very pleased with the paint job, Heavy Duty, " Jerry" gas can fits perfect. The seller even contacted me before shipping to make sure I understood measurements. Cheaper than others to.

This is a great product
Dear Amazon, i purchased this can holder as a suggestion to my purchase of a green 5 gallon water container. Please stop recommending it with that product, it does not fit. The Jerry Gas Can Holder works great with the right can, but not with the green Scepter 5 gallon water container. I will purchase the correct gas can for this, but i wish i could lock down my water container. Oh well, we cant win them all.

Solid unit.
Like the fact that it's welded together and not bolted. It has rubber gaskets that help with the rattling noise of the can. However the gaskets can come off easily if you don't secure them with adhesive. It's a well built unit. Definitely worth the price.

Not bad, not amazing.
This gas can holder feels pretty solid; however, if you are nitpick-y, you may find that certain things aren't as good as they could be. A couple of things I noticed: • Welds are sporadic; sometimes they are clean and other times they looked chunky and rough; I don't know if this will impact structural integrity over time. • If you build a bracket with bolts to mount these holders onto a roof rack as I did, you may find that the bolts extend into the area that the can sits in; I had to fabricate some absorption pads to cover the bottom where the bolts protruded slightly, ultimately protecting the bottom of the jerry can. • The rubber bits come off far too easily. Just from removing the jerry can, two of the rubber pieces fell off and I had to put them back on. • The bracket is specifically shaped to accept only a certain type of can. I have potable water jerry cans and, because of where the nozzle opening sits, the locking bracket will not fit. Not a huge deal, but instead of being able to secure the can into the holder, I have to use a ratcheting strap. Overall though, I would probably purchase them again. I haven't found anything that I dislike enough to rate them poorly.

Surprised how solid it is. Top locking bar could be better but works fine. I’m happy. And the Scepter 20l plastic can fits in snug!

Jerry can fits very snug and secure

The basket is of better quality/heavier guage than expected. The locking handle looks good and can be made to fit different Jerry Cans firmly in the basket to prevent falling/bouncing out. Would not be effective to prevent Jerry Can theft by someone without tools but strong hands; would be effective locking to basket height only.
