Yasutomo Bokuju Liquid Ink - 12oz Sumi Ink for Calligraphy and Artwork - Black Drawing Ink for use with Japanese Ink Brushes and Dip Pens

I do a lot of ink on watercolor paper and this ink is by far my favorite. Brushes nice and works beautifully with dip pens. I have also gelli printed with it. Very nice ink.

I'm a Japanese Calligrapher and I like this Sumi Ink for painting my Japanese Calligraphy pieces.

Great quality ink. The bottle is genius how it dispenses ink. Makes it leak proof and difficult to spill. It also allows for controlled pouring of the quantity of ink.

Good color, no leaky, good value.

I liked the richness and flow of this ink for modern calligraphy but I ended up returning it due to the smell. Unfortunately Sumi inks are too potent for my sensitive nose and always ends up giving me a headache when used.

I just received this today and i really like it. and the smell is stronger than the last brand i got which i love the smell of すみ so we are good there. but I bought this believing it was waterproof or water resistant as the Yasumoto website states. However it is not water proof or water resistant once dried even for an hour. I want to give more starts but the product info is misleading so I cannot do that. The brand I normally buy is a little more than $5 this is 3 times that price so when it states permanent or water resistant for that price it should be that.

I use this ink with a dip pen and it works exceptionally well. I got it hoping it would work with alcohol markers and that it does. Can’t wait to order more in a couple years when this bottle runs out. This is one of my first inks so I don’t have much to compare it to, but from my experience, I like it 👍
