Does its job amazingly to
It really does its job, and does it well, it keeps the heat from my hand, and keeps sparks from sticking to my glove, and sleeves when I wear it lower.My best story with it however comes from when I wore it while using the oxy fuel torch, I felt a warm sort of moist feeling on the back of my hand, it made me think “what am I touching?” Once I put the torch down I realized a piece of orange molten metal had jumped onto my heat pad and stuck to it. It slid right off when I passed my glove over it, and didn’t even punch a hole through the pad! It left a circular burn mark, but zero penetration, and I hardly felt a thing! On top of that, the straps have been put through it, holes, and burns but they’re still going strong, definitely coming back to buy more when this one gives out, but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Has limits on heat tolerance in stick
First day of use I burned a 1/2x1" hole in the shield with the hand to close to the arc. Have continued to use shield which does its job. Have to be careful wiping off welds with the shield on as the elastic on the palm side is easily damaged by hot metal. Going to try another brand. This one works fine and makes big difference in perceived heat on back of hand but longevity looks to be marginal.

Does what it should
Stops the heat from getting to the hand and can stop dripping slag from burning. Tairs up over lots of use and abuse.

Keeps the heat off my hand - Love it!
I'm a hobby welder but have been using this for a few weeks now and it really keeps the heat off my hand! I leave it on my glove and have had no issues with the straps as others have reported - no affect on taking the glove off or putting it on! Highly recommended if your hand gets too hot while welding!

Keeps the heat off of the back of my hand while GMAW (MIG) welding
I bought this because I was getting the back of my welding gloves and hand very hot in tight corners. Works well. It stays on my glove when I take it off, so no worries about it being handy.
