This is a great rug pad and does all that I wanted as it cushions and protects the floor giving additional insulation between the cold floor and our feet. It is a bit slippery so either carpet tape or a non-slip mat is needed in heavily trafficed areas. I feel it was well worth the money.

We ordered this for our new rug. The thickness is perfect and is very soft. We actually used it for 2 days before our rug was delivered. It makes a nice difference under our new rug giving it just enough padding. We cut it 2 inches shorter than the rug to avoid any height tripping and for the rug to lay correctly. It was worth the purchase.

Does not have grips on the back, so it will move if you don't have furniture on top of the rug holding it down. I thought a 9x12 rug on top would be heavy enough to keep this from happening, but it slides when walking on it. There will be furniture on it after it lays to flatten for a few days, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Otherwise, it's soft, a bit less plush feeling than i expected, but it was one of the cheaper ones I could find so I can't complain. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Perfect thickness, good quality. Makes the rug feel nicer to walk on. Know that you absolutely must put some sort of non-slip pad underneath this if on hardwood or other slippery floor material.

Great price! Got it on sale. Good under a thin washable rug. It is slippery on hardwood floor if you don’t have furniture to hold in place but usually these are way more expensive. Cut a little bit very easyDefinitely buy again

Received this today, absolutely no smell, and it layed flat. I bought the 1/2" thickness. It lays on top of a non-slip pad I used from the last rug that was here. And my new rug, pictured, doesn't slip around at all on top of the mohawk rug pad. My rug is now so incredibly cushy, it will be great for doing floor exercises on. It was very easy to install, it fit perfectly under my 5 ft x 7 ft rug. I didn't have to do any trimming. I got it for $35 and it is an incredible value. And again.... absolutely no smell. I opened up the packaging, spread it out, and I'm using it right away with no smell.

This did wonders for my area rug. I did not have to deal with the slipping of the 8'x10' 1/2 inch thick padding due to my living room furniture being on top of it. It added awesome padding to the area rug. Yes, it is difficult to cut, but this is an added bonus...meaning it will not rip or come apart if moved like most other carpet padding...ya'll need to keep this in mind. The thickness enhances vacuuming and has literally brought my area rug back to life, not to mention how nice it feels to walk on! I would definitely recommend this padding...felt adds an extra insulation/warmth level to hardwood floors.

This rug pad arrived in a mostly sealed plastic wrap and seemed good. When I unrolled it though, I noticed that the area that was exposed from the protective plastic looked like this (see pics). It was dirty and had a slight musty smell. I'm sure it's just dust and what-not from sitting on a shelf in a warehouse. It didn't seem to want to come off, so I went ahead and put my new cream-colored rug on top of it. Maybe I should have sprayed it with bleach or something from the get-go.My dogs, who are fully potty trained, peed on that spot. Not once, but TWICE!!! Ugh..... The first time I used spray carpet cleaner on this spot, let it air dry, then put parchment paper on top (and all around). Then I used my carpet cleaning machine for the NEW rug. I allowed that to dry completely for 24 hours. Mind you, this is only 48 hours of having this new pad and rug. The next day, when I went to remove the parchment paper, they peed again. Unbelievable!!! This time, I put my brand new washable rug in the wash machine and cleaned the pad with spray bleach.What a nightmare. I should have just returned the padding. This is my 2nd time buying this padding (first one is in our master bedroom and I L O V E it!!) from this company. So, I was hopeful this spot was just dust. Apparently, whatever was mixed with the dust did not sit well with my dogs causing them to mark their territory. The dark discoloration is still on the pad, as it was when it arrived (brand new, out of the package in the pictures provided...I should have taken after pics). The bleach did not bleach the coloring at all and did not jeopardize the integrity of this padding. I guess I'm more upset with myself for not sending it back and asking for a newer one. My mistake.The padding is really good. It does not markup LVP flooring and has a slight rubbery feel to the back side. This keeps it from moving around. It's really nice. I just had bad luck with this one.

I bought the 1/4” thick - I believe the 1/2” might be too thick for comfort & too difficult to cut (box cutter worked better than scissors).

I just purchased a new area rug and wanted a better under pad than what I had (just a thin gripper pad). I have a .47 pile height area rug (8x10) and wanted a 1/4” under pad. Other reviews say it is not “non slipping” but with the heavy area rug on top, it isn’t sliding anywhere! Plus I have furniture resting on 3 edges. Cuts easy with regular scissors. I love the plushness of my area rug with this under pad. Cost was a good deal for this quality underpad. I would certainly recommend it for a larger area rug.
