Fun to throw and look at
Great flying and one of the best looking boomerangs I now own.

Awesome! Skillbuilding.
What a fun item! I bought this for a school project, exploring Aboriginal Art of Western Australia, to learn how to throw the Boomerang. Knowing it's history of origin, I can't imagine using this as a hunting tool - props to them! I watched a couple of YouTube videos that explained the method in throwing and went out and picked it up right away. It takes a little getting used to as you have to take the direction of the wind and wind speed/strength into consideration. Out of the 60 (ish) throws, I managed to catch it once but ultimately did get it to return to my general area more often than not. I'd recommend throwing in a grassy area, as the field I was in did have some sand/rocky parts, which ended up chipping the boomerang slightly here and there but overall the Boomerang is sturdy, very light, and a fun activity & skill to learn!

Excellent boomerang!
I bought this boomerang after seeing it on a YouTube top 10 boomerangs list. It was the favorite pick of the 10. Having said that, we are still honing our throwing technique! Goes a long way and it comes back. I was surprised to find that it was finished only on one side, with bare wood on the flat side. I suppose there are good reasons for this. And the finish is going to wear off a little around the edges, but one would expect that after a few rough landings. Flies well. I would definitely recommend it.

Hard to spin.
The boom-hummingbird is a very heavy wooden boomerang. The top has a beautiful furniture finish, unfinished on the flat side of course. The darker side is harder to find, so you may consider adding a couple of bright stripes. Unfortunately, I had no success getting it to return in a light breeze. Due to the weight, I could not get a productive spin on it. It is built very sturdy for recreational use. I would strongly recommend against giving this model to a minor.

Updated...
The first thing I noticed was that it did not come packaged as shown in the photo. It was simply in a plain and clear plastic sleeve. It was supposed to be a gift, so that was instantly disappointing. Made it look cheap. The second thing I noticed was how incredibly thin it was. I expected a solid wood boomerang. This one is nearly paper thin and looks and feels like it will break with one throw. Definitely not worth $25. UPDATE: OK this thing is pretty cool. It flies great and has not broken, as I suspected it would. I am still removing one star for the packaging, but the boomerang is impressive.

Cheap plywood!
This is a extremely cheap boomerang, made from thin plywood and unfinished on one side. I was expecting much more after reading the reviews, and expected a solid piece of wood, not press board. I returned it as soon as I recieved it. It looks like it could probably fly..... But the first hit it takes, it's done.

I placed it in the woods because it's made of wood and I thought it should be with its family...
What kid doesn't want a boomerang? I'd always wanted one and decided it was time. I liked the traditional look of this boomerang and it is definitely pretty in person. Took it out for 30 throws or so. Completely new technique to me but the instruction book is well made and helpful. Very light but very durable. A few of my throws were low, which shoot up then kamikaze into the ground but the boomerang took it like a champ. It even stuck straight in the ground a time or two. Never hit anything super hard like concrete or a tree but it took a few hard dives in the grass. Definitely solid construction. I started off throwing way too hard which led to alot of walking. It is actually impressive how little of a throw you really need as long as you get good spin on the boomerang. Lost it in the sun completely once and didn't hear where it landed... was absolutely sure I'd lost it. Biked around the grass for 10 minutes before I got lucky. Never take your eyes off it and assume you'll know about where it will go. I got super lucky that I found it. A shade over 20 bucks for some "wanted it ever since I was a kid" fun in the sun is not a bad deal. When I eventually goof and lose this one I will definitely look through Colorado Boomerangs if I don't just rebuy this exact one. Thanks!!

Awesome!
This boomerang is lots of fun and beautiful to look at. Although it is pretty tricky to learn but that's not a bad thing at all! Good durability and awesome wooden boomerang!
