It works really well as an antenna amplifier..
Ordered this and it came really quick, just like they said it would (2 day shipping from cabletvamps / amazon). Tested it out on the bowtie antenna I have in the 580/680 area in California, and it boosted the signals just as advertised. Many channels can be received, though care needs taken to point it in the correct direction antenna height needs to be above the neighbors house. Took it to another location north of Napa CA and it worked well there too, with a directional antenna from Radio Shack (Antennacraft® HBU33 High-VHF/UHF Antenna), it cleaned up the signals great. There is a disclaimer with the amplifier which states that some signal needs to exist before it will help, and that is indeed the case - it does not seem to add any new channels as far as my testing could tell... but more thorough testing will be done later. I am specifically writing this review because it was not 100% clear to me from the amazon description, or the manufacturers description (electroline), that it could be used as an antenna amplifier, they seem to market it as a drop-amp only and not an antenna amp - though the distributer I purchased it from via amazon (cabletvamps) may mention it on their site in passing. I find it a bit strange that they would not mention it, especially with the surge suppression they do mention. With the instruction that come with the amp they discuss using it as an antenna amp. Choose the 1 port amp to have a good solid amp that I could rely on, with the most gain (15dB), without needing to worry about terminating unused output ports on a multi-output amp. +-1dB flatness in the 54 - 1000MHZ range is incredible compared to the several other amps I tried, have not tested that yet though. Also the surge suppression rating for the rf ports & wall adapter is also important (antennas can be hit with lighting). Top notch product, "2 thumbs up".

Worked for amplifying attic HDTV antenna signal
Installed this to amplify signal from an attic antenna and then split the output to multiple rooms/HDTV's, and it worked well for this purpose. You'll need to provide your own coax cable for the power supply.

Did nothing to increase signal
Did nothing to increase signal reception of CBS and I live on the south side of Chicago. While all the other stations are transmitting good signal, CBS yet to increase their output. If I were a advertiser I would pull all my future advertisement from CBS.

Cable Modem Amplification?????
When asking Electroline support people if this drop amp could possibly improve the signal INTO my Arris cable modem, I got some snarky smart-ass answer from an Electroline tech that I should ask my cable provider (Comcast). Great indication of a company that seems not to care. Anyway, the only noticeable improvement that I detect is that the Slingbox internet connection at our vacation home does not drop out anymore. That suggests to me that perhaps the Electroline is boosting my internet so the Slingbox has a stronger signal to send down the internet? I don't know enough about this stuff and wish someone could educate me. The Electroline techs certainly are not interested.

Cable Amp Review
I researched how to improve my cable signal and this looked like it could work. After my cable company went digital I lost many channels, mostly due to older cable wiring (RG-59) and splitters. I installed this amp as close to the cable input as I could. There was still one splitter in the attic and per instructions I installed one splitter ahead of the amp to split my internet signal. WOW! I now get all my channels, including some I didn't know I could receive. All perfect reception. Easy to install and works great. 5 Stars all the way.

Well made Amp.
I ordered this Electroline Drop Amp to upgrade my HDTV reception from the UHF antenna. I measured it to have 17 DBm gain with very good S/N. It brought in marginal station to where I get a solid viewable signal. I mounted it next to the outside antenna and used the DC blocking inside. The DC blocking didn't lower a signal at all. A nice feature to have. Don't forget to order one from Amazon if you are going to mount it in a remote location. Its a nice solid amp and the 5 year warranty is nice to have if needed. This is the third amp from Electroline and I haven't been disappointed in any of them. Please read all the info that comes in the box. Its nice to get 50 plus channel off the air now.

This signal booster works perfectly.
I had a few channels that would not display, adding this signal booster in fixed the issue. I put in a 2 line splitter on the incoming cable line, one line to the internet modem, the second to this signal booster which then goes to a 3 line splitter. Works much better than just splitting everything 4 ways from the incoming line (which the cable company installed).

Prior to buying this booster I tested the logic using a friends booster for my HDTV Antenna signal strength and that amplifier was only 7 Ohm and this device is 15! The booster was very well packed and came with the required AC plug that requires a coax cable to connect to the booster and the AC plug. I even plug this unit in prior to my splitter as the signal is propagated to tree TVs in my house and this 15 Ohm booster did the magic! Great product, excellent price due to it be a refurbished unit. I went from 9 channels to 22! Great buy, great seller.

I have 9 HD TV outlets via high quality splitters downstream from this Electroline signal booster and the picture quality is perfect.
