Best Classic Bowie For The Money
This is an excellent Bowie knife, styled on the classic Western pattern, at a very reasonable price. Best of all, it's 100% made in the USA.You can find cheaper Bowies, some much cheaper, but made overseas. This Bowie is beautiful, well fit, and very sharp, right out of the box.My only complaint is the sheath. While very well made it is a little tight or short.I own several Bowies and, in my opinion, if you're looking for a classic Bowie this is the best bargain for the money.

Very nice
Just recieved my knife, no imperfections on knife or sheath, was very pleased, the cocobolo handle is very nice, solid cocobolo and not laminated, there is nothing I can say negative except th snap button should be stamped bear and son's, I bought this for my Bowie collection for sandvik steel blade, its tougher than most stainless steels in most Bowie knives, so I was willing to pay a little more for this knife, I also like the D ring sheath which I'm impressed with quality of the craftsmanship, also impressed with the quality of craftsmanship in the knife as well, I like my old timer 184stuh, my case XX Bowie, my buck custom shop Bowie and thie bear and son's Bowie the best, I have at least 10 other bowies at least, this bear and son's, while plain and straightforward is just nice to look at, up close and at a distance, and it came sharp, the sandvik steel,is pretty tough it's still easy to sharpen, it's as tough a D2 but D2 holds the edge better but is harder to sharpen, and sandvik is a little more corrosion resistant. This a real nice Bowie.

Gold Rush Bowie 14.75 in.
This is an excellent utility/fighting knife. I chose this knife because it is made in the USA and I prefer a 9-9.5 inch blade. Ten inch and longer are a little unwieldy for me. They feel more like a machete than a knife. I do have a couple of those. The Bear & Son is a quality field Bowie and was razor sharp out of the box. The hand guard had a very slight bit of play. That bothers some people and I am one of those. I never considered returning it. I am told it is common in this style knife whatever the brand. I taped it off and used a plastic tooth pick to get some Gorilla Glue in there and it is now solid as a rock. Later, to be sure, I cut off a small piece of Mighty Putty and forced it into the spaces around the hand guard. I am a lot happier with this knife than a Pakistan bowie.Glad to support. USA company.I would buy it again.

Impressive Quality at a Great Price!
This is a heirloom quality knife for a really good price. It’s hefty yet nicely balanced, and hair-cutting sharp out of the box. Despite a few minor scratches on the blade and some blemishes on the leather sheath, the craftsmanship is impressive. Haven’t got to use it yet, but I can tell this knife not only looks nice, it’s functional as well. I bought a similar, yet more expensive western style bowie knife from a “famous” knife maker, but it was just a Chinese manufactured showpiece. This knife is the real deal and would make an excellent gift.

Great quality knife for the money
Great looking knife. Arrived in perfect condition.Sheath is nice quality. Came pretty sharp. I gave it a once over on my diamond polishing wheels and it is razor sharp now. Shaves hair like a straight razor. Blade is fairly easy to sharpen as well.

Love this bowie!
I've always wanted a bowie for my collection. I saw this one, and couldn't resist. This is not a cheap bowie with junk steel. Great quality steel, nice finish, comfortable handle, and sharp as heck right out of the box. Comes with a nice leather sheath as well

Made in USA Perfection.
IM SO PROUD TO OWN THIS 🇺🇸 MADE WORK OF ART Wow I'm so impressed with Bear & Sons !!! Absolutely stunning craftmanship !!! Bear & Sons Gold Rush Bowie knife is a heirloom Knife that you will pass down for generations. This knife has BEAUTIFUL Cocobolo wood scales and the Sandvik 12C27M Stainless Steel is AWESOME it holds a very good edge. The blade is very close to Buck knives heat treatment. This Bowie knife is balanced PERFECTLY its not to heavy not to light. The hand guard is perfect and tight. Feels so good in the hand. The sheath is very nice leather. Sheath came oiled & fits like a glove. Regular mink oil treatment will keep it waterproofed and lasting for a long long time. I 1000% recommend Bear & Sons cutlery.

Handcrafted Beauty
This bowie wants to be used - it's going to be my 'user'. Shaving sharp, very maneuverable, gorgeous to look at. The sheath is beautiful too, made out of high quality leather. Yes, it could be in a collector's display, but it would be a shame not to use it backpacking, hunting, even cutting your steak when camping. It has a comfortable weight even for a full sized bowie, not clunky by any means. The blade is hollow ground, full tang. It will be easy to recondition the edge when required. Out of the box it smells like buffing compound, traces of someone putting on the last touch. The handle is well crafted, tapering toward the brass guard for a perfect grip. It's hard to put it down.
