I have been buying golden berries for years so I am familiar how they ought to look and taste. I eat them with mixed nuts. Those sold at WholeFoods are ok, but the store is too far so I ordered from amazon. These are hard as gravel; sizes of individual berries are uneven-- some are very small <5mm; 90% are very dark (rather than yellow) and shriveled. They are VERY TART. I wish i could return them, they are not cheap...

They were darker than expected, but the texture and flavor did not disappoint. I wish they came in larger sizes, but it was what I was looking for and a great price.

I have created a filling recipe for a trail mix that involves air popped popcorn, various nuts, golden raisins (I don’t like the regular raisins), dried apples, a super high fiber cereal made from pea protein tasting of cinnamon. I bought these to go in the mix and they are okay, but I will not buy them again—they taste a bit bitter to me.

Fresh out of the bag, fine flavor. Semi-soft texture and deep color. My actual overall rating is 4 1/2 stars (too bad it's not an option). Golden berries are comparatively expensive but the price for this brand is very good. Recommended if you want a less-sweet alternative to raisins, dried apricots or dried blueberries. And I appreciate that this product is not treated with preservatives.

I love golden berries and have tried various brands, but I have now purchased these from HerbaZest 3 times in a row because they are great quality. The berries are dried, but still soft enough to maintain their tangy, tart but sweet flavor. Other brands overdraw them and they are hard to enjoy. All three bags that I have purchased have been consistent quality as well, other brands quality seems to go up and down. I am actually surprised at the reasonable price since they taste better and are higher quality than some of the more expensive brands that I have purchased from. Highly recommend.
